What's upstairs in this Grasmere self catering cottage?

Upstairs there are two bedrooms.

The four poster room has a high vaulted ceiling, with an en suite shower, toilet and sink. Here's a photo to give you some idea of the four poster.

There are great views from the windows.

There is another bedroom with 2 single beds and a sink.

The main bathroom has a spa bath- great for relaxing in soothing bubbles after an energetic day out in the Lake District!

There is a shower over the bath.

The whole place is centrally heated and cosy.

Boots ready, maps ready - one last cup of tea before we start our walk.

You can see Silver Howe and the views towards the Langdale Pikes in the background . Is this a photo taken before or after a walk?

Maybe you're planning the day, having a last cup of tea before you put your boots on, getting ready for the big one, the Fairfield Horseshoe, a full day's walk taking about 6 - 8 hours which you can start from the door. This walk takes you up to 2,900 feet above sea level.

Or perhaps you're back from a day's hiking, tired but happy, looking forward to a chilled glass of beer or maybe a large Gin and tonic, followed by a long, bubbly soak in the spa bath.

Brockstone Grasmere Cottage s the perfect location for walkers and hikers. You can put your boots on at the door and walk all day. There are great circular walks from the cottage, which is located in the White Moss area of Grasmere. You can read my helpful page on 6 circular walks from White Moss by clicking here.

The Terrace and Garden at Brockstone Grasmere self catering cottage.

A south facing sun trap with magnificent views.

Many people who visit the Grasmere and Rydal part of the Lake District will have walked past Brockstone Grasmere self catering cottage.

It is on the wonderful walking route from Dove Cottage Grasmere to Rydal Mount, Rydal. Both of these are famous homes of William Wordsworth..

From Dove Cottage, the road goes uphill for about half a mile, before becoming a track. The last 400 yards of access to Brockstone self catering cottage is along this track- drive with care! After Brockstone Cottage the track is just a walking path. No cars go past- only walkers!

From the terrace, you have amazing view over Rydal Water, and the famous Lake District hills ( called "fells" locally)- Loughrigg, Silver Howe, Wetherlam and the Langdale fells. This photo shows you Rydal Water, viewed from the terrace of our Lake District Cottage.

As it is perched high up on the hillside, this Grasmere self catering cottage gets all the sun that is going. Down in Grasmere Village, by Grasmere lake, and in the valley, the houses and cottage get very little sun during the winter months, and even in summer the shadow if the hills can restrict the sun. Not at Brockstone- it must be one of the sunniest spots in the Lake District.

This map is not entirely accurate, as Brockstone Cottage is further along this lane to the right- where the track (down which you can take your car) becomes a walking path. Brockstone is at the end of the track- no passing traffic, except for hikers.
