This Is Harbour Town Lighthouse
Is This A Real Lighthouse?
The lighthouse at Harbour Town, South Carolina has become a landmark site for tourists, boaters and anyone captivated by the charm of Hilton Head Island. The Harbour Town Lighthouse was opened in 1970 as a focal point for the Sea Pines Community and a way to attract visitors to Harbour Town. While the lighthouse was not specifically built for the aid of ships, it does have a white flashing light that is visible up to fifteen miles.
Today the Harbour Town Lighthouse is a museum full of memorabilia and historic artifacts displayed on each of the lighthouses nine landings. The top of the lighthouse features outstanding views of the surrounding area and a unique gift shop.
