Last year I was lucky enough to travel to Havana in Cuba. For me this trip had to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Like so many people, Cuba for me was a place of mystery and finally going to this country was really incredible.

There are many incredible places in Havana but the place that stood out for me was the old city. This is where you can really see the Spanish influence and get a grasp of how life was like before any American influence. Walking around the central square of the old town, you could imagine you were back in the colonial age. It is simply an amazing sight. In addition to that, the ships in the port are from a previous era and it is not insane to think that your back in the golden age of piracy.

Havana was also the place where one of the greatest revolutions of all time took place. It is where Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and their followers lead a protest that is still remembered today. Certain places such as Revolution Square really make you understand these events and a later history of Cuba is put forward.

Havana is an incredible place for anybody and for me it was a really unique and amazing experience. Travelling to Cuba is like going back in a time machine to a different era and that is something you can't experience anywhere else. I loved Cuba and I thought it was an amazing experience for a traveler. Cuba is now much more accessible to the general public and I encourage people to visit since it is a place like no other.
