Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Play Area at Disney World
The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure is an incredibly creative play area for kids at Disney's Hollywood Studios park in Disney World. This area is a ton of fun, even if your kids have never seen the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids movie. Everything is oversized so you feel like you are wandering through the grass at an bug's eye level. It is a great spot to explore, burn off some energy and just enjoy the adventure!
Disney World Trivia: The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure opened on December 17, 1990. At that time, Disney's Hollywood Studios was called Disney-MGM Studios - the theme park's name changed in 2008.

Have your kids seen Honey, I Shrunk the Kids? (movie)
Have your kids seen this movie? It was released in 1989 so a lot of children who will enjoy this play area have probably never seen this movie. It is very cute and the DVD is super-cheap ($4.75) so it might be a great family movie night choice before your next Disney vacation.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Play Set Adventure in the Streets of America Area at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Disney's Hollywood Studios recreates the golden years of Hollywood that probably never really existed outside of our imaginations. The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Play Set Adventure carries that "Hollywood Movie Studio" theme by being a presented as a movie set from the film. Kids won't really catch all that - they'll just have fun. Here's a photo of the entrance which, in my opinion, doesn't give you a good indication of the wonders that await the young explorer with energy to burn!
The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Play Set Adventure (sometimes abbreviated HISTK by Disney fans) is located in the Streets of America area of Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is only open during daylight hours. You'll find theme park maps and a separate Disney's Hollywood Studios Times Guide near the front of the park that will list hours during your visit.
So much fun for kids!
There is no age or height restrictions for this attraction but adults probably will not fit in every area - like this cute root slide. You will be able to walk up the stairs with your child or wait for them to reappear at the bottom of the slide. I love the giant hose nozzle in this photo!
Imagine what you would see if you were the size of a bug!
This 11,000-square-foot play area lets you climb and explore the wonders found at ground level for someone the size of a bug. The blades of grass here are 30-feet high and set the stage for the experience, as well as providing shade.
Great spot to get some Disney vacation family photos!
The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground is a lot of fun for the kids but it is also a wonderful spot to get some really great pictures of your kids!
Giant Web Climbing Area
I usually hate walking through a spider's web but this web is a lot of fun for kids who like to climb and explore.
Inside the Web!
Climb a giant ant!
In the movie, the kids find a friendly ant that they harness and try to ride home. The movie takes a dramatic turn as the ant is attacked by a scorpion and dies but you'll be spared that trauma as you climb a giant anthill in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Play Area.
This Playground Has Gone to the Dogs!
Another famous scene from the movie involves the family's dog, Quark, and his nose - which seems giant to the shrunken children. You'll find Quark's nose, accompanied by sniffing and snorting noses, recreated in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Play Area.
Do kids these days even know what film is?
Remember when film would be developed into slides? Well, Disney has done that here...sort of. Your little one can slide down this roll of film in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. Times have changed so have an impromptu history lesson with your child and explain that cameras used to use film like the roll here, and those rolls had to be developed...or sometimes they would just sit in a drawer for years until people got around to it.
