Jupiter Island
Jupiter Island- Beauty and Nature
Jupiter Island is a barrier island located in Martin County, Florida. It is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, St. Lucie Inlet to the north, the Indian River to the west and Jupiter Inlet to the South.
This small island is home to some of the wealthiest people in the US and is also a place of much natural beauty. The island includes the town of Jupiter Inlet Colony on the southern tip and the town of Jupiter Island. It also has the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge to the north and the Blowing Rocks Preserve. In addition it has a wonderful county beach park Coral Cove .
From the mainland you can enter from the south near the Jupiter Inlet lighthouse or from the south over Bridge Road.
In this lens I will share with you some of the photographs I shot on Jupiter Island.

Town of Jupiter Island - Christ Chapel
After the 2000 census the town of Jupiter Island was said to be the "richest town in the USA". This town has only 550 homes and is surrounded by nature on all sides. The government leaders of the town have work hard to preserve the natural beauty of the area and to maintain the privacy of the residents. The founders made sure that there were major areas set aside for land preservation and homes are restricted to two stories and 10,000 square feet. The residents have also agreed to ban commercial property in their town.
There is one official church on the island, pictured here is Christ Memorial Chapel.
The above information was gathered from the March 2010 copy of Jupiter magazine. gulfstreammediagroup.com
Beautiful Hibiscus line the Main Road - white hibiscus
As you drive down the main road in the town of Jupiter Island you see beautifully manicured lawns most with tall hedges. He can sometimes catch a glimpse of the beautiful homes down the driveways, but mostly you notice the beautiful landscaping along the roadway.
I was really impressed with all the beautiful varieties of hibiscus plants and stopped several times to photograph them. I thought this white hibiscus was particularly stunning.
Coral Cove
This county park is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. There is a beach with a lifeguard, a nice blacktop path that runs from the parking lot to the area above the beach and stretches the length of the park. If you want to view the beach but don't want to get down on the sand it is a great place to take a stroll. There are benches for resting and taking in the sights.
The park is complete with restroom facilities, a playground and picnic area.
Beach at Coral Cove
The edges of the beach at Coral Cove park have interesting shaped rocks jutting out into the water.
