The Love Sick Tarantulas of Mount Diablo

The Annual Tarantula Migration on Mt. Diablo

I've lived in the Diablo Valley of the San Francisco Bay Area most of my life. Mount Diablo is a significant Northern California landmark, though a mere 3,557 feet high. Historically, every September and October male tarantulas make their annual migration "looking for love." I have to admit, in all the years I've lived here, I've never participated in Mt. Diablo State Park's organized Trantula Trek. I'd just as soon let the fuzzy critters find love on their own.

      Lol i am not a lover of spiders but i dont wish harm on any creature but a tarantula trek eeeee nah, but i do like the tarantula pendant it looks very nice.

      Great lens, I can't believe there are Tarantula Treks! That would creep me out!
