Pack a cooler and head to the Wright Brothers Memorial for a tour. Kids will enjoy walking up the Wright Brothers Memorial hill and climbing the First Flight metal plane sculpture. Be sure to stop by the visitor center to see a full-scale reproduction of the 1902 glider, 1903 flying machine, and a reproduction of the Wright's first wind tunnel. Watch private airplanes land and take off at the First Flight Airport. Finish your visit with a picnic at one of the picnic tables at the park.

Must have beach items:
Do you have all the beach essentials covered? if you are coming to the Outer Banks with a young child, don't forget to bring sand toys, a beach tent or umbrella, a sun hat and a sun protective swimsuit or a regular bathing suit and plenty of sunblock, and a cooler or a cooler bag filled with cold drinks to keep the little ones (and yourself) well hydrated. The cooler tote bag featured here is a must have - it has an insulated compartment for cold drinks and plenty of room for other beach essentials like snacks, towels, sunscreen, etc. And you can use it as a wet bag too. Highly recommended!
