Very affordable OBX attraction for kids

and adults

Pack a cooler and head to the Wright Brothers Memorial for a tour. Kids will enjoy walking up the Wright Brothers Memorial hill and climbing the First Flight metal plane sculpture. Be sure to stop by the visitor center to see a full-scale reproduction of the 1902 glider, 1903 flying machine, and a reproduction of the Wright's first wind tunnel. Watch private airplanes land and take off at the First Flight Airport. Finish your visit with a picnic at one of the picnic tables at the park.

Must have beach items:

Do you have all the beach essentials covered? if you are coming to the Outer Banks with a young child, don't forget to bring sand toys, a beach tent or umbrella, a sun hat and a sun protective swimsuit or a regular bathing suit and plenty of sunblock, and a cooler or a cooler bag filled with cold drinks to keep the little ones (and yourself) well hydrated. The cooler tote bag featured here is a must have - it has an insulated compartment for cold drinks and plenty of room for other beach essentials like snacks, towels, sunscreen, etc. And you can use it as a wet bag too. Highly recommended!

Over the years we have enjoyed a variety of activities which include several different watercraft activities, as well as the carnival rides. We always love visiting the aquariums in the area. And, exploring the beach is always fun!

I would love to visit the Outer Banks. My husband is originally from a small town near Charlotte and I've always wanted to visit the coast. You've given me some great ideas.

Not been to the Outer Banks before, but I'm familiar with Atlantic Beach off Morehead City a bit further south - the coastline is so beautiful.

The kids would be happy with a playground, but we usually take them to airplane museums and aquariums. They seem to like big dangerous things. Blessed.
