Patzcuaro is a town in the state of Michoacan in southwestern Mexico. It was a city of the Tarascan people and then during the Spanish colony evangelized primarily by Vasco de Quiroga who became bishop of the region and founded the first cathedral of the state, then become temple of the Society of Jesus.
