Spring Jubilee is a Juried Arts and Crafts Festival held the first full weekend in April in Pendleton SC

Spring Jubilee 2017 on the Village Green in historic Pendleton SC April 1 and 2. Just as the dogwoods begin to show their buds, the small historic town of Pendleton, SC begins to get busy preparing for Spring Jubilee.

The Pendleton Garden Club works hard preparing the Masonic Courtyard. The Pendleton High School FFA joins the Garden Club to replant the planters around the square with new spring flowers. The merchants are busy washing their windows and decorating them. Everyone has one thing on their mind and that is to get our beautiful town ready for the largest event of the year: Spring Jubilee!

The Town Wide Clean Up Day sponsored by Pendleton Pride In Motion, the Town of Pendleton and Pendleton Garden Club is scheduled for March 25th and volunteers are asked to meet on the Village Green at 8:30 am to get their assignments for the morning.

Spring Jubilee was a huge success with gorgeous weather, a great crowd, very talented Artisans, fantastic entertainment and delicious food. We appreciate everyone who participated in this event.

Each spring, approximately 20,000 people visit Pendleton during the two day festival. Getting around the town during this popular event can be challenging. What Is There To Eat At Spring Jubilee?

Yummy!!

Lots and lots to eat!PDC does not allow more than one vendor to sell the same items so there is a very large variety of great food.Have you ever had a Funnel Cake? Well, Hevy Mann makes the best. His Fresh Squeezed Lemonade is also great. I heard he is having something new this year made with Sweet Potatoes. Yummy!Old Fashioned Ice Cream, Barbecue, Hamburgers, and more. I haven't seen the list for this year but there is always lots to choose from. Also, please check out our local restaurants.1826 On The Green is housed in Farmers Hall which is right on the Village Green. Award Winning Chef, Lorett Hayes, will prepare a meal that you will remember in an atmosphere that you can't forget! The Islander Pub and Grille located on Exchange Street is a great place to relax and meet your friends in between your shopping at the festival.Village Baker not only has fresh made breads and deserts but also lunch items.Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant is right on the square on Queen StreetBrandini's Cuisine at Liberty Hall Inn864-502-2227These are just a few of our restaurants. Please take time to visit them and to visit our shops in and around town. Thank you.Pendleton BusinessesRestaurants In Pendleton SC

How Does One Qualify for Spring Jubilee

According to the Pendleton District Commission, all applications from artist and crafters must be in by February 1 before Jubilee. "They have to submit photographs of their handmade items with the application and then it is voted on by a committee". Your application does not guarantee a space in the show. You'll find the the rules and guidelines of the show in the vendor application. According to the Pendleton District Commission's Website, "over 300 artisans vie for the coveted 90 spaces."

Pendleton District Commission - Spring Jubilee - It is not easy to get into this Juried Arts and Crafts Festival and is considered an honor. Jo has managed to keep this a very high quality festival with some of the most talented artisans around.Photos: Courtesy of Pendleton District Commission

We are sisters who understand fully the smiles on your and your sister's faces right now--a good time for pictures! I stopped by briefly yesterday and wanted to come back to linger a bit over your 2009 updates--love the slide show and the music was great--what a joy. Oh, and I hear you are moonlighting as a costume designer now--can't wait to see Joan modeling your creation!
