Banaue Rice Terraces
The Banaue Rice terraces is located in the mountains of Cordillera Province in the Northern island of Luzon. Built by Ifugao 2000 years ago. The Ifugao geniusly carve the natural contours of hills and mountains to make terraced pond fields, coupled with the development of intricate irrigation systems, harvesting water from the forests of the mountain tops, and an elaborate farming system, reflect a mastery of engineering that is appreciated to the present. In fact today many Filipinos in different area in the Philippines made their own rice terraces for farming. This farming technique shows how creative the ancient Filipinos.
The Historic Town of Vigan
This famous town is located in Ilocos Sur. This town until now intact and well-preserved. The architecture is truly reflective of its roots in both materials and design, in its fusion of Asian building design and construction with European colonial architecture and planning. The historic town is one of the few Hispanic towns left in the Philippines and is well known for its cobblestone streets and a unique architecture that fuses Philippine and Oriental building designs and construction, with colonial European architecture. In this Town you can see and ride the ancient Filipino transportation called Kalesa.
