Quiz: England - How much do you know?

Updated on June 10, 2011

Test your knowledge of England with these simple(?) questions

England is part of the United Kingdom [UK] and arguably the hub of the British Isles. It is a great tourist venue and there is a great deal of justifiable national pride in its beauty and in its traditions and history. It has varied scenery, from mountains to rolling fields. It has castles, cathedrals and other medieaval relics of many types. It has Stone Age, Iron Age, Roman and later archaeology. It has fossils from the earliest plants and animal life forms, including dinosaurs and early mammals. It has museums and art galleries galore, many of which charge no entry fee. There's something for everyone!

The image to the left is of the Houses of Parliament and the Tower housing Big Ben, viewed from the River Thames.

Let's take a tour of England and see how much we can remember. Good luck, and have fun. There are polls and a duel. for your amusement, too!

@ChrisDay LM: Oh, I dunno, anything that sucks the life and water supply out of the nice plants growing nearby; the hardest ones to pull out, with roots about 5 times as long as the plant (above ground). You know, the ones the neighbours complain are noxious (or is it the abnoxious neighbours complain about)?
