Most Beautiful and Exotic Beaches - Seychelles
When I reached Victoria City in Seychelles, I hired a taxi from the airport to the Anse Major, where I had a booking in a nearby beach resort. On the way I saw the condition of the city and the first word came out of my mouth was, What a messy place. But later my mind changed and I started loving this place for its natural beauty and soft sandy beaches. I was here, for more than a week, I used to walk in the morning at the nearby beach and use to have fresh local drinks at one of the the beach side restaurants.
I am sorry, I almost forgot to provide you information about Seychelles, but it is better to be late than never. Let me explain about Seychelles, actually it is an archipelago comprising of 115 beautiful islands and is officially known as the Republic of Seychelles. This island country is situated on the Indian Ocean 1500 km away from the South Africa's mainland.
The Victoria City is a capital of Seychelles, it features an International Airport. The city is located on Mahe one of the main islands of the country. This island of Mahe is surrounded by a cluster of 41 granitic islands, which are recognized as the oldest mid-oceanic granitic islands present on the earth.
The archipelago of Seychelles is divided into two different parts called the Inner Islands and the Outer Islands. Out of 115 islands the Outer Islands comprises 74 low lying coral islands and the Inner Islands comprises remaining 41 granitic islands. The Inner Islands feature one of the most beautiful beaches of the world and also forms the economic & the cultural hub of the country.
The climate of the island is very pleasant and ideal for tourism, it never gets extremely hot or cold. The temperature never reaches above 32 degrees or goes below 24 degrees. This climate conditions are also responsible for making this island as one of the prime tourist destinations. Every evening I used to lie down on the soft sand of the beach, enjoying, the waves touching my feet and I would like to tell you that it was an unforgettable experience.
After spending near about 2 hours at the beach, I use to grab some snacks, and stroll in the city talking to the locals. They are very co-operative and friendly, they taught me their culture, traditions and showed me how catch fishes in shallow water. These beautiful beaches are uncrowded and pristine, offering a promising long list of things to do for the visitors.
More than 16 islands offer all types of accommodations ranging from rustic lodges to the 5 star sumptuous resorts. Anse Major is the finest beach located at the north-west of the Mahe, largest island of Seychelles. I stayed in one of the resorts near Anse Major in Mahe, it was my first trip to Seychelles and now I frequently visit this place. It is a beautiful place where you can relax, unwind yourself and enjoy quality time with your family.

Things to do: - Snorkeling
Snorkeling is one of the best thing that I have doneduring my visit, but when there are treacherous currents, the swimming is prohibited. It was the first time for me when I snorkeled and that time I was afraid of the deep water, but I wanted to see the underwater world. The eagerness to witness the new world under the ocean, lead me to hire an expert trainer, who taught me a few tricks about safe snorkeling.
After training for more than 3 hours, I took a deep breathe and dived in the ocean, the trainer was with me all the time. I was swimming little bit deep and after sometime, I saw beautiful fishes passing by me, I tried to touch them but don't know how they get away. The clear visibility in the water, allowed me to see the magnificent views of the coral reefs.
Seeing fishes and marine creature in an aquarium and practically swimming with them both things are different, but seeing feeling those creatures swimming around you is an incredible experience. The beach is under supervision of the tourist police like most of the beaches in the Seychelles. When you are busy with your activities, they sit under tree shades, watch your belongings and keep them safe.
There are two ways to access this beach, by walking or by a fishing boat and if you prefer to go by walking then it will take an easy 1 hour walk from the bust stop of La Scala. While walking you have to go through the green shaded valleys and after crossing the granite rocks influenced by the weather, you will reach the soft white sand of the beach.
The island offers crystal clear water and numerous beach sports to the visitors, which keeps them busy all the day long. The main this is that you don't have to worry about the safety, as these beaches are safe and supervised by the tourism police. I hired a car from the nearby car rentals and investigated the south side of the island, where I found the empty and picturesque bays offering spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.
Hiking: I had planned to take a half day hike along with one out of the many trails of the mountain, it was the best way to explore the Morne Seychelles National Park. After walking for about 45 minutes I reached Morne Blanc, From there I saw one of the finest views of the island. While hiking in the forest, I saw tiny cute frogs hiding in the pitcher plants and endemic snakes, basking in the patches of the sun.
I also went on hiking from Police Bay in the south to the Morne Seychelles Mountain in the north. Almost all the arteof the island is covered in green thick Jurassic forest, where beautiful tropic birds and fruit bats patrol for food.
Fishing: It is a favorite thing to do among the locals of the island but now tourists also love to do fishing in Seychelles. The majority of the working class people is dependent upon fishing for their livelihoods. However, if you really want to experience the deep sea fishing or how locals catch the fish, you can hire a fishing boat, there are numerous service providers.
There are numerous fishing boat service providers, from whom you can hire a fishing boat and sail to the Silhouette, La Digue and Praslin Island. You know fishing in a deep sea is a wonderful experience as there are near about 300 species of marine creatures existing in the area. I hired a local fisherman's boat for fishing, he guided me how to catch fishes, with his help we caught species such as, yellow tuna, Dorado, Sailfish, marlin, bonefish, octopus, Wahoo, etc.
Horseback Riding: The island of Anse Cimitiere situated on the Western Coastline of Barbaron offers horseback riding, if you are an experience you can hire horse and take a ride near beautiful beaches. If you want to learn horseback riding then there is a center, where English-speaking trainers are available to guide you how to ride Arabian horses.
I am not a experience rider, but I took training at the center and went on a ride near the beach. I was feeling like I am a king or something, riding the horse and feeling the cool breeze in your hair, watching aggressive waves of the ocean during evening, was really something that I can't forget.
Scuba Diving: Around the island of Mahe the water temperature of the Indian Ocean always remains near 27 degree Celsius. This consistent temperature of the water makes it an ideal place for scuba diving. Dive and swim with octopus, turtles and various other 300 species. While diving you can enjoy the views of the beautiful coral reefs, as the underwater visibility is near about 30 meters. The underwater world is one of the most unique and beautiful creations of the nature, scuba diving will give you an experience of a lifetime.
I was feeling like as I am in a new different world, where you will find several marine creatures that you have never seen. For this unforgettable experience of the scuba diving at coral reefs, I will suggest Big Blue Divers, which are one of the leading scuba diving service providers and they take visitors in private boats, to the best diving locations around the beautiful islands of the Seychelles.
Other Activities: Besides all of these things to do I enjoyed numerous other activities such as, kite boarding, kite surfing, windsurfing, Sailing, Paragliding, Jet-skiing, etc. Sailing is a very popular thing to do among the locals as well as tourists. I also hired a sailing boat, but I was not knowing how to handle it, so I hired sailing boat with an experienced sailor to guide me. Sailing in the turquoise water of the Indian Ocean was of great fun and I enjoyed a lot.
