Spring Is Imminent - Destination Spain

Updated on June 25, 2015

Spring No Better Time To Visit Andalusia Spain

Thinking of Spring Imminent challenge for the Giant Squids and all I could think of was the warmth and soft sands of Southern Spain or Andalusia as this region is called. The region is steeped in history and what better place for me. The wonderful Andalusian horses with their proud traditions in Dressage and the home of the modern Classical Guitar to boot. For me seventh heaven, and for you too. Now would be a great time to plan a vacation to this wonderful country with its magnificent buildings art and country side. Not to mention the presence of the ocean, seafood, paellas, tapas and flamenco. There are also more international standard golf courses than anywhere else on earth so it is the perfect holiday resort for the whole family.

This tour is going to be in pictures and music from the favourite instrument of the region the Spanish Guitar.

Some More Great Pictures Of What You May See in Andalusia

You will get to see many or all of these places during a trip to Andalusia, which is a beautiful and historic region of Spain rich in culture and things to do. You may even get to see the film set used to make the spaghetti westerns the most famous of which The Good The Bad And The Ugly was shot here!

I have Used pictures from a Travel company (TripAdvisor) as all of mine from past visits were analogue and have not yet been digitised. The pictures show areas of Andalusia that I have visited in the past and as you can see this area of Spain is extremely beautiful and actually includes Granada, Seville, and Jerez. This gives it contrast and culture aplenty. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

You will notice that as I am not a golfer there are none of the famous courses mostly designed by Seve Ballesteros included here!

Some Of The Really Popular Spanish Guitar Tracks From This Area Courtesy Of YouTube

These tracks illustrate some of the places shown in the pictures above. The Fort at Al Hambra, Sevillia, or are just typical of the music of the region. Sit back get a coffee and enjoy the music of Spain and let me know your favorite in the section for remarks below. Several of the videos are quite long so you may want to bookmark the page and come back often!

Ana Vidovic plays Sonatina & Suite Castellana by Federico Moreno Torroba

John Williams

John Williams is one of the finest guitarists in the world and he is the one that started me in my love of the Classical Guitar as a schoolboy I was sat within touching distance when he was invited to play at St Albans Abbey Cathedral Church in St Albans England, which was my school church in high school.

Julian Bream

Many regard Julian as one of the best guitarists ever. For years he and John Williams were seen as bitter rivals, which they are not, just both of them tend to be perfectionists!

Ana Vidovic

Ana is one of today's brightest young stars very much on the rise, watch out for her.

Andres Segovia

The Grandad of modern Classical Guitar and schoolmaster extraordinaire he taught many of today's best players. Listen to this master at work in this fine recording.

John Williams And Julian Bream Together

These two are masters of their craft and together they proved it the best guitar duets ever recorded.

This guitar was designed by Alamira Ramirez to celebrate the companies 130 years anniversary, but more importantly the rosette design shows Japanese Roses in order to remember the Japanese tsunami victims.

I had a time share there with my first wife. No longer married and she kept it (shame). I could do with a vacation right now!

I love Spain - we had a fun vacation to Costa del Sol in 2009. I think I could actually live there.
