Top 5 things I love about the Czech Republic

Updated on February 27, 2014

I love Czech Republic!

Czech republic is small country located in Central Europe. And obviously, I love this country, because it is my home. There are problems as anywhere else in the worlds, but I think that there is even more nice, in this country. And I love it, I really do. So, this five things I love about the Czech republic most:

The history

This is one of the most wonderful thing about the Czech Republic. It is quite an old country with a rich history. It is full of old castles, churches and other historical monuments. Almost every city is several hundreds years old and has nice center with many historical monuments. The capital itself -Prague- is often called one of the nicest cities in Europe.

So if you are into history and historical architecture, you can't do wrong with Czech Republic. And our country is small enough to visit a lot of it during one vacation.

The nature of Czech Republic

The nature in Czech Republic is just wander full. In some parts of the country it was very devastated during the communism, but it is everything going back to the right order. In Czech Republic, there are several national parks ( like Czech Switzerland. Krkonose etc.). But also there is nice nature everywhere, not just inside the parks. It is very good country for those who like cycling! You still can see something nice and new along the roads.

Obviously, this beverage earned its own point. In Czech republic we are very proud about our beer. And we drink it a lot, we are one of the world's champions in drinking the beer. In Czech Republic there is a lot of big and small companies, who make the beer. If you had the chance at least try the Pilsner Urquell beer which is one of the best and you can buy it almost anywhere in the world (but it may be a little bit expensive).

Czech language

Language in Czech Republic

Cestina, as we call our language in the Czech republic, is rich and nice language. But it is very difficult to learn for foreigners.

It is from the same language family as Polish or Russian. There are many regional accents, and although we always understand each other, it may be a little bit difficult.

And finally, Czech people, the Czechs. They are just unique. They are not as friendly and warm as some south-stern nations, but they are honest and very tough. Typical Czech behavior is also to complain about everything. And drink beer while doing so. But in general, Czechs don't have very good name in the foreign, that is because a lot of robbers etc. in many countries are Czechs. I am really sad when I hear it.

Bonus! - Nice and very funny video about the Czech republic.

I love this one, referring the Czech as the country of beer. Enjoy!

I've never been to the Czech Republic, but I'd sure love to go! Maybe even more so now that I've read this. History, you say? Beer, you say? And beautiful nature to admire while taking in the history (and beer!)... yes, I think your country sounds like a great place to visit!

I have not been to the Czech Republic, but my German Shepherd Dog, Lejla, came from there. Her papers said she was born in Banska Bystrica, Slovenska. She was a wonderful dog - I have a lens about her if you want to see her picture.
