Cancun looks beautiful, I want to go but haven't been because of the troubles in Mexico. It looks tourist friendly and great if I was a college student on Spring Break. The beaches look crystal clear.

I've been to Cancun a few times... if you want a lot of shopping, tourism selections, nightlife and people everywhere then stay in Cancun. If you'd rather get away from the crowds a bit then take a shuttle down to one of the resorts south of Cancun, takes about an hour and well-worth it! That area is often called the Mexican Riviera or Riviera Maya and there are some absolutely gorgeous all inclusive resorts down there with all the amenities. One of my favorites is Club Med, they own an entire peninsula - beautiful place! But no kids, that Club Med is adults only but there are many family resorts in the area as well.
