Falling Around

Updated on July 16, 2010

A Poem about Travel for the Purposes of Learning and Growing Being Overrated.

Traveled the globe armed with a prayer

Hoping what I needed I would find right there

Turning away, leaving what I loved behind

Hoping to death I would like what I’d find

Amazing how hard it is to run

To realize you are the only one

To lay your feet on another man’s land

Falling around just to know where you stand

You can’t rise up ‘til you’ve been down

It’s not sink or swim it’s thrash or drown

I’ll want what I get, I’ll not get what I want

And gratitude’s my only device

Oh I’ve seen all the faces

Explored all the places

I’ve done all the things I had to do

So let’s go home. Let’s go home.
