My 5th day and 6th trip to Indonesia, East Java - Pasuruan, Tretes
After our visits to Ijen Crater, we continued our journey to Pasuruan. We took a transit at Bondowoso town from Paltuding, Ijen Crater to Pasuruan. It is a long distance. When we reached Yayasan Kaliandra Sejati, a chalet and homestay in Pasuruan, Tretes, it was already late evening. The Reception office has closed after office hour. After the long and tiring journey, wew found that the officer did not receive our booking’s email and there were no rooms being readied for us. And the sky was already dark, it was impossible to search for other guesthouses at this place anymore. Luckily, the officer, Yanuar resolved it. Everybody was tiring and hoping that we would settle as fast as possible. It was already late and everybody supposed to go to rest especially during this off-peak season. However, we found some coffee; rosella tea and hot water were served at the corridor of our dorm-style chalet. We had gave some trouble to the staffs, they have to go out to arrange dinner for the unexpected guests.
Expenses om this trip :-
*Yayasan Kaliandra Sejati Dorm – Rp250k (4 pax)
On the tiring night, i had a very comfortable sleep at night. After our breakfast on the day, we were invited to join the aerobic session which provided for all staff here. We couldn’t see Yayasan Kaliandra clearly in the dark last night. But this is so beautiful under the sun and we really felt the comfort of the place. Before the aerobic instructor begun the session, I was able to join some people who were playing traditional music instrument. I was taught some simple way to play the music instrument, it’s interesting.
At about 9:20am, we got ready to go to the Taman Safari Indonesia II (one of National Zoo of Indonesia), at Prigen. After about 10 minutes drove from Kaliandra we reached Taman Safari, but it was raining. There was a lot of school children brought by their teacher to this Safari Park too. The Safari is big. There is Kawasan Satwa for the animals to stay freely without being caged. We saw a lot of Asian, African, American and Europe wild animals here. After touring Kawasan Satwa, we visited Mini Zoo; there are animals and reptiles being caged here. While we were waiting for the animal shows, we took our lunch at the Cafeteria in the Safari Park. However it was raining heavily and the shows had been cancelled.
We were back to Yayasan Kalianda at about 3pm and arranged to move to Bungalow Nakula in Yayasan to stay for another night. The bungalow was located some distance away from the dormitories. Followed some treks and a big pool with three gooses swimming freely there. In front of the pool, there is another piece of green. We saw a very unique constructed building like a palace; this is the mansion of the boss of Yayasan Kaliandra. Another swimming pool is just behind the gooses’ pool. Along the walk to bungalow, we crossed a bamboo bridge on a natural stream, climbed some staircases, and all is surrounded by nature.
Finally, we reached the bungalow. There are some wooden huts on the slopes of the hill. There is peaceful view from bungalow Nakula, this is the place that take up a lot of spaces in our camera. At the evening we were taking turns for the body massages. I did the hot stone Javanese massage for about 1 hour. It was raining and I felt very cold during the massage. We went to another restaurant for dinner. It’s different from the restaurant last night. The crew served us Soto Ayam. It’s delicious, And it’s totally changed my impression to Indonesian food. We couldn’t fell any additional condiment in the food that may make us thirsty.
