Water sports activities in goa
If you love adventure and have got bored of doing the adventure activities in mountains, then why not try doing some on the beaches of Goa. Yes, it is true there are actually not one or two but lots of activities to boost adrenaline inside you and give you a sense of enjoyment and thrill at the same time. Don't worry, these activities are safe and some of them are even recommended for people from any age. When we were in Goa last month, we did parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat ride with a surprise flip into the sea, of course with life jacket on. Other interesting water sports activities in Goa include river cruising, backwater cruising, yachting, hang gliding, rafting, scuba diving, kayaking, and canoeing.
Adventure water sports activity destinations in Goa
Baga Beach is one of the most important beaches in Goa completely loaded with almost all water sports activities. It is also one of the first beaches
Calangute is another famous destination for water sports activities. It is just next to Baga Beach and hosts complete range of sports activities onsea
Candolim beach is also famous for water sports activities and in next to Baga and Calangute in popularity though you will find more foreigners here.
This beach is also famous for water spots activities.
Although this beach is not famous for water sports activities are it is a rock beach, but it is famous for other sports activities that can be done.
Security and safety: Although accidents are inevitable at beaches but still there are lots of life guards and guides to save the visitors and and it is mandatory for each and every person engaging in water sports activities to wear life jackets whether he/she is a good swimmer or not. One can see constant announcements by life guards regarding taking care not to go deep inside the sea especially when people are drunk. According to a conversation we had with a waiter on a Goa beach shack, most Indians who get drunk and go far into the sea are the victims of drowning.
Parasailing in Goa: When you are standing on the beach and you see people on the parachute right in the middle of the sea, then it feels like it's a really tough activity but believe me this is not the toughest one, as you are completely secure over there. You have life jackets on, you have well-trained life guards on the boat, plus the parachute is guided by a completely equipped crane on the boat and even a slightest movement like moving up, down, right, or left is in the hands of the operator and the best part is that all these sports activities are performed under the supervision of Goa Tourism.
Jet Skiing in Goa: Jet skiing is an adventurous and thrilling activity and you need to have proper knowledge and the art of maintaining balance on the low and high tides of Goa beaches but if you don't know how to do it, then there is no need to worry as you can always have a driver who can drive while you can have the ultimate fun of skiing at super speed on the sea.
Banana boat ride in Goa: What a fun. You are sitting on a boat so low that your feet are touching the ocean and then your boat is tied with a steamboat and you are experiencing the fun of riding right on the sea so fast and then suddenly there is a surprise flip and all of you fell down from the boat into the sea. It's a real thriller indeed.
Water sports activities rates in Goa:
Parasailing cost: 500 rupees per person for a parasailing ride plus 200 rupees extra for a dip in the sea. If you are a couple, then per person cost can come down to 400 rupees and interestingly I found a group of 10 people enjoying 5 different types of rides for just rupees 500 each. That happened because of bulk booking that they got from a tour operator.
Jet ski ride: 100 rupees per person for a small round and 500 rupees for a 2-km long ride where you can also ride on your own.
Banana boat ride: 200 per person.
