Zoomarine in Rome

Updated on January 30, 2014

Visit Rome's Wonderful Waterpark

Zoomarine is a great mixture between zoo, amusement park and swimming-pool. People walk around in bathing-suits and flip-flops, everybody is really relaxed. We went a Friday in August last year, the busiest vacation period in Italy. Although plenty of people, it never felt crowded, there was enough place for everybody. Have a look here to see what to expect when you go there!

This fantastic water park is found in Torvaianica, just off the coast from Rome. Here they have dolphins, sea-lions, as well as many other fun things. Roller coaster, swimming-pool, water-slides, 4D Cinema, and a Dinosaur Park!

Free shuttle service, during week-ends and all of August, from Roma Termini and EUR Palasport

From Metro B station Laurentina, take Cotral bus direction Pomezia-Torvaianica. To request a transport service from Piazza Ungheria to Zoomarine, please contact the office.

Opening hours: Most of the summer it's open every day 10-19

Address: Via Zara snc, Torvaianica, Pomezia. Telephone: 06 9153 4001.

Price: Adults Euro 25/ Child/Senior (under 10-over 65) Euro 18/ Children less than 1m- Free!

The Dolphin Show

The shows are very nice because they don't only focus on the skills the animals have. Instead, the staff is educating the public, telling where the animals live, what they eat and how they function. Of course, all of this is done in Italian! It is amazing to see the interaction between the animals and the workers, it is a great performance whether you speak Italian or not.

I am really looking forward to seeing a dolphin show. I saw one when I was very young - so young I hardly can remember anything. Since then, I have only seen them in the wild
