A Dog Gone Wild!

She's Got The Look!!!

Making The Cut !

Sometimes I get a request for something a little different! As is the case with Martina,One of the joys in having a standard poodle as a part of your family,is the different styles you may do!!

You Can modify any style you like,to show off their personality, which this owner loves to do!!

Bangles on the legs! Pom poms on the hips...Martina knows she looks good, and prances around showing off her new cut!! She rarely lets her "mom" leave home without her as she is anxious for people to see her!!! Now..If I could just talk her "mom" into placing a string of pearls on her!! Woo Hoo!

The bangles are accomplished by pulling up sections, and clippering in between, then scissoring them round..You may place as many as you like ,taking care to enhance the length of the leg..As this cut is not a good one for a short thick dog...

Of course it helps,if like Martina, you are interested in getting such a trim and will just stand there!!

We are insink this morning. I love your poodle. Such a beautiful dog. Beautiful cut for sure. My parents have always had a poodle..They are so smart and think they are human..I truly think they understand everything you say.

Nice hub for sure.

Martina looks so poised...as though she's actually a model posing for the camera. If she stands still while getting this high-style "do", she must realize she's becoming beautiful!

an update about Martina(the doggy in the picture)

she recently was put to sleep..an apparent kidney failure ...this is the last photo of her..so the owner is happy that I have written this...she gets to remember her in all her splendor...because of this writing..

Oh, I'm so sorry to learn of this lovely dog's death. Your article with the photo will serve as a tribute to Martina for the owner, who has my sympathy.

I recently read a book, PACK OF TWO: The Intricate Bond Between People and Dogs, by Caroline Knapp. The author got her first dog (a shepherd mix named Lucille) after a broken relationship and became so close to her that she feared her friends thought she was crazy. She finally decided, "Hey...I love my dog. I'm thirty-eight, single and my most rewarding relationship is with my dog."

She goes on to write that we all learn about love in different ways, and if loving a dog is one of them, that's okay. It doesn't mean we're substituting dogs for humans or thinking of them as human rather than as canine. I was glad to read that because I love my dog just that much.

I hope Martina's human mom will find that special bond again.
