I am the father of three year old cute little girl named Hafsa. Presently, I am stuck between present, past and future.
I studied in LSE, Kings College, Hamdarad Univ. UET, Govt. College and FC College and was living and working in Strand, London for seven years before moving to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as an Office Manager.
Whether studying or not, I am proud to say that I have spent two third of my life in various schools, colleges and universities. While in school, I had my room covered with pictures of Universities and colleges and I clearly remember I was in grade three when I first saw the brochure of TOEFL and Columbia School of Mechanical Engineering. I kept them safe in my shelf till grade 12.
I have enjoyed everything in my life, making my doll go to sleep to preparing breakfast while studying for my PMP exam, that I have no further plans to take this year. But tell you the truth, it is worth taking as it give you career boost and rise in salary, plus you have enough to impress your colleagues and office visitors.
After long office hours (I work for 10-12 hours everyday in this design and consulting firm), home is real fun. After supper, I sit down with my wife and family to discuss the issues we are facing back home, Pakistan my Native country, is a piece of hot cake in all news channels around the world. I love people politics back home and enjoy watching talk shows but donot take me as a couch potato.
I love books and I used to read atleast 4-6 hours everyday when I was in London. My wife and I were regular library goers; I even had a membership in my daughter's name who was only an infant at that time, just to borrow enough quotas for the week. I enjoyed all sorts of books, novels, magazines, audio & video books. This is not the case now. Books are rare to find in Saudi Arabia and expensive and it costs a lot to buy them from EBay, Amazon and Bookers as postage is very high. So, I fulfill my desire by reading pdfs but again, reading from PC does not give me enough pleasure then reading from a book, but it still helps.
On weekends, we watch movies, I love all sorts of films, watching cartoons and animations with my daughter is real fun, especially I have to mimic the voices later to assure her that papa is a better hero then these characters. My wife like art movies and Indian films are sometimes also on the list but they are not my cup of tea.
I love board games and enjoy playing chess, backgammon, dominos and scrabble. My wife is a very bitter opponent and I hate myself most when I lose a game or two.
Sometimes, we go out to these giant malls for shopping and fun, life is quite and peaceful here in Riyadh.
I have always loved living in Saudi Arabia as I have spent my whole childhood here, although we had no relatives and extended family at that time, but we had very nice neighborhood and really enjoyed the Azzizya District and my school life in Jeddah.
I have no regrets in life, I am 36 now and want to have a peaceful family life with enough savings for my retirement, help my family getting out of financial hardships and for afterlife. I really enjoy my time in the Holy cities, that's where I find my real peace, I love mediation, sometimes the whole family take part in prayers together. It is really fun and good example for the kids.
I have very few friends. Since I have very sad memories of friendships (Don't worry, I have forgiven everyone in my life, even my enemies,if any), hence, I hate to make friends. I am very lucky to have good office colleagues; you can call them near-to-friends. My wife is my best friend. I consider myself very lucky to have a wife who supports me in everything. That's when I love and admire arranged marriages. Parents and family elders have lifetime experience and they want the best suitable match, plus they know our body chemistry which unfortunately is not possible in love-on-sight turned into marriage, that's why our country has the lowest divorce rate in the world.
I will try my best to express myself as candidly as possible. I don't know if people will like it or not, but I can give it a try.
My motto in life is to 'Live and let others live in peace'.
Good luck everyone and have peace, harmony, love and calmness in your lives.
