Number 13 appears as a symbol for the first time in Scandinavian mythology, when in honor of the Baldur god of Valhalla (god of fame, goodness and noble power) there is a banquet attended, besides the 12 Scandinavian gods, and Loki had been uninvited), a Sarlatan god. By the end of the banquet, Baldur is assassinated by Hoor who had secretly received a magic sword from Loki.

Similarly, the dark symbolism of 1213 has its roots in Christianity, the Last Supper being often associated with this number. Here, the 12 disciples together with the Savior (forming a group of 13) are gathering for a dinner that will prove to be the last of its kind. 13 is in the present case a prediction of the events that will follow after the meeting.

In the same spirit, Friday 13 is a dark day because it is said that the Last Supper took place exactly this time. Moreover, on 13 (Friday), but in 1307, the Order of the Knights Templar was destroyed, its members being arrested by King Philip of France.

We can consider Judas or Loki figures of the 13th figure, and so consider the number 13 as a bad luck. However, we can compare 13 with the enlightened entities of the dinner / banquet, such as Christ or Baldur, gaining a positive perception of the symbolism hidden under number 13, namely:

• Spiritual evolution

• ascension

• Rejuvenation

In ancient Greece, Zeus was the 13th god, considered to have the supreme power. Here are the symbolic associations between Zeus 13:

• power

• whole

• Perfection

• perfect quality

• success

In Ancient Egypt, number 13 is closely linked to Osiris (the supreme god of life, death, and a strong solar symbol). He was killed by his brother, Typhon, who cut his body in 14 pieces, so that he could not be reunited by Isis, Osiris's wife, and brought back to life. The parts of the god's body were scattered throughout the Earth. Only 13 could be found, the 14th being eaten by fish from the sea. Symbolicly, the Egyptian myth affirms that number 13 is a precursor of perfect perfection.

Also in the ancient Egyptian faith, the ladder leading to eternity has 13 steps, saying that the last of these souls touches pure spirituality.

The Egyptian and Babylonian calendars were 13 months old. That's why number 13 can be associated with features like:

• femininity

• magic

• psychic

• emotions

In number 13 there is number 1, which precedes it on 3 and amplifies its influence, symbolizing:

Reducing two-digit numbers is a common practice in numerology. Thus, by reduction, number 13 can gain new meanings (1 + 3 = 4). Figure 4 imparts pragmatism to the controversial 13, brings it to a rationalization level, to a clearer perception of things.
