Slavery Still Exist
Modern Slavery Still Exist
The Things People Don't Know or Understand About Modern Slavery
So let me tell you a story about a man who was black and what his company did to him. My husband has worked for this company for over 15 years. He drives hazard chemicals all over the US. He has been a slave to this company for 15 years.
A few months ago, one of his coworkers left his time keeping up on the computer and forgot to close it out, giving my husband a chance to see what the other drivers were making.
He found out that all the other drivers, who were white made six dollars more an hour then he did. He went to his boss and still no raise. I contacted Human Resources, and my emails went unnoticed and unanswered. No one replied because a black man was getting black pay.
My husband is on call 24 hours a day and when his boss called him to go to an emergency response, he told him no and shut his phone off.
His boss then told him he was approved for a two dollar raise. Two whole dollars while the other guys he trained were still making more money because they were white.
If you don't believe slavery still exist, you are truly mistaken. Has he gotten a raise yet? Nope.
I told him to transfer to another company because at this point, I was sick of the company he worked for. He never misses work. He goes on every emergency response where he is needed. He travels with hazardous materials all over the US and he is not appreciated for his hard work. I have seen him work three weeks to three months without a day off and this is how he is treated.
Think About How Black People are Still Enslaved
If I was going over the speed limit and a black driver was going over the speed limit, who do you think would get stopped? The black man. If I just killed someone I would be put in handcuffs nicely. If a black man commits murder he is thrown to the ground, face in the dirt and kicked the crap out of.
Every time my husband goes through Alabama, and gets on the scale, they always give him a ticket for being overweight. Even if he weighed his truck before he left, it was not overweight, but they still ticket him without looking at the receipt he got when he weighed his truck.\
I hate it when white people say I don't understand, I never had slaves so what is the issue? If you are that dumb to not see what is going on, then I can't make you understand.
The Amount of People Still in Slavery
We See Our World Differently
If you never have to worry about your husband leaving the house, you are lucky. Every day. when my husband leaves the house, I have to worry if he will come back home.
Think about the ICE agents arresting US citizens because they are not white. They are just assuming they are illegals, and they put them on a plane and send them back to a country they have never lived in.
I will fight for my husband's rights until I am too old to. I will fight for all who are being unfairly treated. Any children who are not white are ten times likely not to be hired because of their race. Why do they need to know your race, when you are filling out an application. Race doesn't tell any employer if the candidate has the skills to complete a job. Every employer has to have a certain number of minorities working for them or they will be considered a racist company.
Slavery Has to Stop
It doesn't matter how you feel about this, and it's not affection you; you will never know that slavery still exist.
I have watched many videos of black people in prison, that have spent over 30 years in there, let go because they were innocent and now DNA can prove they were. Not being in the world for 30 years, you come out to a whole new world, and you missed the most important days of your lives.
This behavior has to stop. Everyone should be treated equal. I will be right there for my husband no matter how he decides to handle this.
