Interactive e-books are a very fun way to engage a child in learning

Unlike the “quiet” books which can only display text and pictures, interactive e-books break through the fourth wall by allowing the child to participate in the book’s story.

Interactive e-books are a very fun way to engage a child in learning. Unlike the “quiet” books which can only display text and pictures, interactive e-books break through the fourth wall by allowing the child to participate in the book’s story.

This is a very useful feature for toddlers as they have a very short attention span so getting them to do something or engage themselves in some way as the story is being read is a sure way of grabbing their attention and getting them to learn concepts in a passive fun way.

In this post, some of the best interactive kindle books you can find on the Amazon store will be introduced.

COLORS - Touch and Learn Interactive Book for Kids - (Primary Colors)

It’s pretty tricky teaching toddlers the concept of color as this is an abstract idea. But through constant repetition and exposure to numerous examples of colored objects, the child will become familiarized with the different colors and will eventually be able to recognize them in everyday objects.

This is the premise behind the book, COLORS - Touch and Learn Interactive Book for Kids - (Primary Colors), which focuses on instilling the learning of colors through repetition. Each color shown has nine real life photographed objects displaying the colors.

In order not to overload and confuse the child by exposing several colors to them, the book showcases only the primary colors (Red, Yellow and Blue) along with the colors black and white.

This way the child can thoroughly master a set of colors at a time and avoid having color mix-ups.

The cool thing about using photographed objects rather that digital art is that real life objects tend to have different textures and shades of color.

For instance the blue of the sky is quite different from the blue of a flower, but they are both blue!

Thus the toddlers are exposed to the various shades of each color in a bid to get them to recognize the core common base color which will help in easily identifying colors of objects around them.

The interactive part of the book is triggered when the child is prompted to touch the colored object shown on the page. Doing so will play the sound of applause or praise.

Toddlers love to touch things and get reactions from them and this book takes advantage of this to engage the kids with the book!

At the end of the book is a short quiz designed to test the child on their understanding of the colors they have learnt.

This book is the second and concluding part of the book series Touch and Learn Colors.

It focuses on showing toddlers secondary colors much in the same way as was done in the first book in the series.

Like its predecessor, COLORS - Touch and Learn Interactive Book for Kids - (Primary Colors), it focuses on instilling the learning of colors through repetition.

The book showcases the secondary colors (Green, Orange and Purple) along with the colors pink and brown. This way the child can thoroughly master the set of colors at a time and avoid having color mix-ups.

Much like the first book, the interactive part of the book is triggered when the child is prompted to touch the colored object shown on the page. Doing so will play the sound of applause or praise.
