Betrayed Poem
Betrayed
BETRAYED
All my life I’d waited for Mr. Right,
Prayed most days and stayed up most night
With a heart filled with WANT waiting for Mr. Right.
Lordy, Lordy could this be,
The man you’ve created just for me?
A chocolate Adonis with a great chiseled chin
In addition to the bat he swung my heart soon gave in.
Just as quickly as it started, our love soon parted
Nights out with the boys,
Business trips to Andover
Before I knew it the honeymoon was over
I went home for lunch one cold winter’s day
Through the snow and the ice I made my way.
Wasn’t acting as a detective or amateur sleuth
Wasn’t seeking a big bowl of truth.
One extra car in the driveway I see
Through the house and up the stairs I flee
To find my lover, myself and DEAN…
Without petty details I’ve been BETRAYED…
My Adonis is a QUEEN!
Ladies heed my warning and I hope that you do,
If this happened to me, it could happen to you.
