Right Relationship With God : The Key to Deliverance

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

Proverbs 18:10

The Book of Proverbs concerns itself mainly with the matter that could make or break us. Proverbs make it clear that the Lord – our relationship with Him is the key to being delivered from what can destroy us.

To have a right relationship with the Lord should be the primary concern of every believer if he wants to have a perfect refuge in the time of the storms of life. We are living in a very fragile world. There are so many causes of distresses while we are living in this world both natural, political, financial. Nobody is perfectly safe and secure in this world even though he may be the richest man on earth. The safest place of refuge is the Name of the Lord. We can only have a claim or privilege to this perfect refuge if we are living a righteous life before the eyes of the Holy God. If we are living lives in accordance to His will and if we are obeying the precepts of His Word, we are privileged to seek refuge in HIm. If we are living in sin we have no right to claim this place of refuge. Safety is found in the Lord. Those who are in the right relationship with the Lord can run to Him and can find safety.

We can never be perfectly confident living in this world without a right relationship with the Lord. Having a right relationship with God which means living uprightly before God and men is the true source of confidence in living. For only in such kind of life we can have a perfect place of refuge in times of storms. Living apart from the center of God's will is a very dangerous life.

To be right with God is to confess our sins and repent and lay on Christ our forgiveness. Because of Christ in whom we have forgiveness , we have a strong tower. Because of what Christ has done on the cross , God’s forgiveness has been opened to us. We have to put our faith completely on the finished work of Christ on calvary as the only sufficient sacrifice for our atonement. We must entirely transfer all our trust on the cross to receive God’s forgiveness. Because of Christ perfect and complete work on calvary , we can be made righteous. Salvation is found in no one else but Christ. Because of Christ perfect work on the cross , we can have a right relationship with God.

When God’s people are threatened or in trouble , they can find refuge in who their God is. The key to deliverance is our right relationship with God. In my very own life, this is indeed is very true. I have experienced great distresses in life such as fire, earthquakes, strong typhoons. Many times in my life I encountered emergencies. Everytime I encounter a distress, I call on the Name of the Lord and surely His Name is a strong Tower. He has proven it to me again and again. I always find perfect safety upon calling the Mighty Name of the Lord.
