Your Bible – Is It Scripture? - Is it really Holy?

How much do you really know about the bible? Do you believe the people that revere the KJV as the best? Do you believe that your bible is the scriptures? Look on the internet or a bible book store and you will find hundreds of different bibles why are there so many different bibles if they are all supposed to be scripture can they all be correct? What bible should I use?

Lets take a look at the bible and answer these questions.

What is a bible?

Each of the following are copied word for word from the actual bible.

Here is what my NKJV says it is.

The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments.

Translated out of the original tongues and with the former translations diligently compared and

revised”

Note that this NKV says it is a TRANSLATION OF SCRIPTURE. It clearly says it is not scripture.

Note- This is a truthful statement of what will be found in it.

Here is What my Amplified Bible says it is.

“The Amplified Bible containing

The Amplified Old Testament and The Amplified New Testaments”

Note- This Amplified clearly states that it is Their own version of scripture. A truthful statement.

Here is what my Geneva Bible Says it is.

“The Holy Scriptures contained in the Old and New Testaments”

Note- This is NOT a truthful statement . BUT if you read all the introduction pages it will tell you

this is a translation of scripture which it is.

Here is what my KJV says it is.

Oops forgot I never use it and can not find it. It is actually a translation of a translation

because to even understand it you have to be able to correctly interpret the now dead old english it

was written in.

Your Bible is not Scripture

So the first thing we must understand is that they are NOT SCRIPTURE but are TRANSLATIONS from the original languages. Do you see where we are going here? If we are looking for SCRIPTURE TRUTH then we must know more about the who and why of the translation.

And all other bibles are the same as the above, they ARE NOT SCRIPTURE, they are the interpretation of the scriptures into your language by man.

The Reason for So Many Versions

Because ALL bibles have within them the prejudices and beliefs of the interpreters and lead you in their direction of belief. That IS THE REASON FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT versions. To get bible readers to follow their beliefs and of course also to make money on sales. They are MOST ALL PERVERSIONS and are designed to LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE SCRIPTURE as the translators want you to believe.

That is why each group has a recommended version for their “members”, to have them learn to believe as their leader does.

Before we continue -

I want to make it clear that this article is to explain what a bible is and is not a move to discredit bibles. Some bibles are quite accurate but some actually have evil intent and all have errors, you should be aware of that. I can assure that any version with a man's name in its title is one you should not be reading as it is exceedingly full of his beliefs and not an effort to bring forth scripture truth. According to scripture most any bible can be used IF you are FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND ALLOW HIM TO TEACH YOU ALL TRUTH. But otherwise you will fall for the traps set by the translators. Because scripture cannot be understood by the carnal mind of man, only when we have become of ONE SPIRIT with Him can we understand the one correct interpretation of scripture

John 16:13-14 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

1 Cor 2:14-16 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Ok now we continue.

So many people do not understand that all the chapter and verse numbers are not part of scripture. They were added for convenience in referencing material. Not all are correctly placed and you have to be careful that you read back and forward to be sure you get correct context.

Then I must WARN YOU that you cannot trust ANY SUBHEADINGS as they are ALL fruit of the translators and ARE NOT PART OF SCRIPTURE. An example of the gross errors that can be found that are designed to lead you in their desired beliefs is taken word for word from my NKJ version.

Do Not Judge

This subheading is completely wrong as the scriptures below show. The scriptures actually say do not judge unless you are willing to be judged by the same yardstick that you use. And there are a great many more such contradictions in most bibles.

Matt 7:1-3 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Luke 6:37-38 "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

There are so many that have been indoctrinated into the use of the KJV and think it is every thing but it is actually one of the worst translations. Very few seem to know the real reason that King James paid to have this version written for his use and that this was the only version he allowed to be used. The reason it became so popular was because of several defrocked apostate ministers that had large followings because their false doctrines tickled the ears and made being a Christian easy and never requiring change as scripture does.. Schofield, Darby and several others brought the use of the KJV and many false doctrines into widespread use in the church system.

Why The KJV was made.

The King James disliked most ministers outside of the state church (which of course he controlled) and feared the current most popular version, the Geneva Bible, would cause the believers to revolt against him because it told of a different kingdom, the Kingdom of God, and like most paranoid men he decided to do away with it. He hired people to write a version of the bible that would not be offensive to him. And that is what they delivered a inoffensive bible full of errors and mistruths. Truly it is a human king's version, the King James Bible, NOT the bible of THE KING JESUS.

THE COMPLETE STORY CAN BE FOUND HERE. http://www.christianity.com/church/church-history/timeline/1601-1700/story-behind-king-james-bible-11630052.html

Quoted from above link.

While Reynolds' unfortunate use of the term presbyterie damaged the Puritan case, he does get credit for proposing the most significant achievement of the conference. Reynolds "moved his majesty that there might be a new translation of the Bible, because those which were allowed in the reign of King Henry VIII and King Edward VI were corrupt and not answerable to the truth of the original." James warmed to a new translation because he despised the then popular Geneva Bible. He was bothered more by its sometimes borderline revolutionary marginal notes than by the actual quality of the translation.”

This following section only is my opinion and is based on studying many scriptures in many versions and comparing them to the word for word translation of a good Interlinear Bible. Yes even some of them are corrupted. This is about the best you can do without an extensive knowledge of the original languages. But of course as we saw above, scripture shows if you are Spirit filled and following Him He will show you truth however you study.

When using the Strong's with an Interlinear, DO NOT use the KJV usage, use the descriptive English supplied.

Also you must understand that the english language has changed over the years and we must understand that we have to use the definitions that were in use at the time of the translation.

One of the oldest and still one of the better translations is the Geneva Bible. It is the one the Pilgrims brought to America and I like it.

My most favorite is the Amplified Bible because it gives the options when there appears to be more than one way to understand an item. When I study and the Holy Spirit shows me something that is not what is generally taught , I go to the Interlinear and the Amplified and than go back to the Holy Spirit to confirm (or deny) what I see . Of course there is still the next step of checking to make sure that it does not contradict any other scripture. No CORRECT understanding will ever contradict another scripture, EVER.

I hope this gives you some valuable insight into your bible and causes you to take a look at the one you use regularly and learn its history.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I hope it leads you to understand that the most important tool in learning scripture truth is that you are fully filled with the Holy Spirit and thereby able to allow Him to lead you into ALL TRUTH no matter what bible you may choose. God bless you as you follow Him and His Son Jesus Christ the TRUE MESSIAH. May 2017
