Ana Brea is a teacher, an artist and a mother of two young adults, ages 18 and 20. She was born in Dominican Republic and has lived and worked in the US on and off since her college years. As a young woman, Ana dabbled in writing both in Spanish and in English. While a student at the Univesity of Puerto Rico in Arecibo, she was awarded first price for short story competing with other college students across the island. Later while attending Massachusetts College of Art she contributed articles to the Newspectrum Times, the school newspaper. Today she teaches Spanish to high school students at a charter school in Massachusetts. She is proud of her work as a teacher. She paints whenever she is able to carve out the time, and is trying to prepare an exhibit for the not too far future. Some of her works may be found on her facebook page: Art by Ana Brea. She's also a runner, an avid reader, and an observer of life in general.
