Joined 3 years ago from Blue Ridge Mountains, USA. Last activity 35 hours ago.

During the late 1980's and early 1990's, I published a newsletter for homemakers titled Homemaker Headlines.  It featured recipes, household tips and community cookbook reviews. I was fortunate to have subscribers across the United States and Canada.  Later, I was asked to be a Field Editor for Taste of Home, a popular cooking magazine.

Currently, I am a marketer of community cookbooks and share cookbook reviews at http://community-cookbooks.blogspot.com

I am fortunate to have done some very interesting things in my life.  I worked as a legal secretary, I owned a business for 17 years, I am a very good marksman with an all time high score of 99.9 on the police qualifying range, I was a back up singer for an Elvis impersonator, and I worked with my husband on the air on his morning radio show.  My all time favorite life event was meeting President George W. Bush in the White House Oval Office.

I am very honored to serve as a member of the Honor Guard in my area. We attend the funerals of veterans and provide the military rights (gun salute, folding of the flag and playing of Taps on the bugle).  My position on the team is Memorial Lady fashioned after the ladies who perform these services in Arlington Cemetery.

I am a writer living happily in a small Blue Ridge mountain town....just me, my husband and a dog named Boo!
