My name is Nigel Stirk, Firefighter by profession and currently I am ranked highly in the UK for the Marathon for senior men and over 35's.

I have a personal best for the Marathon of 2 hrs 26 mins 21 secs of which I acheived in this years London Marathon (2011) where I finished 40th. As this was only my fifth attempt at the distance, I am hoping to run vastly quicker in this years Dublin Marathon.

I took up running nearly 30 years ago, and along the way I have gained a wealth of experience of training and racing from 1500m on the track to a marathon including fell and cross-country running.

Still a member of the famous Tipton Harriers, I have been coached and received advice by some of the best coaches in the UK, and competed in top class races all over the world.
