How To Get Rid Of Wasps
At last, you've finally completed your pre-barbecue tasks for the upcoming holiday. You bought enough meat to feed a small country. The buns are fresh and the propane tank is full. The cooler is loaded with juice and soda for the little ones, and it's got enough beer in it to make your brother-in-law overstay his welcome.
Everything is running smoothly, except for that wasp nest in the corner of your yard. We don't want the kids to get stung by a wasp while playing, and we certainly don't need that drunk brother-in-law swallowing one from inside his beer can. Heck, his face is red enough already. So let's get these party crashing wasps out of here. It's really safe and easy, and will only take a few minutes. Here's how:
- Grab a beer. Slow down cowboy! You can take a swig, but don't finish it. You see, wasps like beer more than we do (if that's possible) so we're gonna save some and lure them into the can.
- Find some string. Grab whatever is lying around the house. Dental floss, fishing line, or an old shoelace will work just fine.
- Hang the beer can. Tie your string to the can's tab and hang the beer can from a tree limb or fence post near the wasps' home or hangout.
- Let the wasps kill themselves. Wasps are attracted to beer, and they will fly into the can. Once inside the can they will drown.
Getting rid of wasps with a beer can is safe and easy. I would not recommend any sort of hands-on approach. Wasps may seem friendly at times, but how would you react if someone attempted to evict you and your family from your home?
