Samples From A Professional Resume Writer

After having written professional resumes, CVs, KSAs, cover letters, thank you letters, references letters, college entrance essays, recommendation letters, and additional documents for personal and professional portfolios for 15 years, I have quite a selection of resume samples to share with others. This collection includes fictitious resumes written for practice and for templates as well.

On Hub Pages, I have a Hub Series on Resume Writing and the concomitant documents and that information will be listed at the end of this Hub.

In this presentation, all the names, places, and other identifiers have been changed in the documents to protect cleints' interests. Moreover, the exhibits here will be composites of more than one person, along with a good amount of fictitious information to further protect identities.

I will present a BEFORE resume and an AFTER document, with photos of a fully formatted Professional Resume that I have prepared as an exhibit.

In the future, I will post additional samples, and I hope other Hubbers will do so as well. This is because, although there are some set types of resumes to be written, with a few variations within standard formats, there are some totally creative resumes to be seen as well - some even contain artwork.

Please enjoy!

Improvements and Reformatting.

A Professional Resume is a specific level of resume that suits workers who have, generally, 10 or more years of professional experience in their occupational fields or industries. For an IT professional, this could even be 10 or so years spread across 5 employers of 1.5 to 2 years each, because IT personnel and companies often change jobs and staff in order to obtain fresh ideas and keep workers on the cutting edge of new developments..

After reading, studying the content, and asking some good questions about missing data in the original resume, I was able to format a Professional Resume shown below in two pages.

The two photos below are edged with a border for this Hub, but the two pages of the resume were done entirely in Word (Microsoft Office Suite). The page was standard 8.5" x 11" with 1-inch margins all around.

The headings were shaded by converting text to a single-row table, deleting border of table, and introducing 10% gray shading.

Why Is An Effective Resume Important?

A well constructed resume without grammatical errors and irrelevant content can mean the difference between a call for an employment interview and a place on the bottom of the pile of received resumes and job applications.

The Difference Between a Resume and a CV.
