Save The Frogs Day
Save The Frogs Day
Frogs are important, their health is an indicator of the health and well being of the planet, our planet, which we share with them and a myriad of other creatures. April the 29th is Save The Frogs Day. Even if you don't think of Frogs for the rest of the year you should think about them today.
Frogs are fascinating although they all share a very basic shape their lifestyles, homes and methods of reproduction vary immensely. Anybody who can be bothered to spend just a little bit of time reading about frogs cannot fail to be amazed. They are wonderful animals.
The Frogs are in trouble. Around 200 species have disappeared in the past thirty years. They have been here more than 200 million years but that's it GONE.....GONE FOREVER!!! 200 species which we have shared our planet with have gone gone gone forever. They are not coming back. Who is to blame? Sadly it is us. The things we are doing to this planet. More Frog species are threatened with extinction now. Sadly it is already too late to help some of these but with others there may still be a chance.
Frogs are important to me and to you. They are part of the web of life and their disappearance will affect us whether we realise it or not.
