A Great Hamburger Recipe
Bob's Burgers
Hamburgers are one of the North America’s most popular foods. So popular that there is even a vegetarian version, but that is the subject for a future hub.
The best hamburger that you can eat is the one you make for yourself and either toss on the BBQ or into the fry pan. There are places that can make a good burger. I just found one near Edmundston, New Brunswick, a roadside canteen called Dan’s made a wonderful cheeseburger. This burger was so good that it reminded me of a burger place that we used to frequent in the late 60s.
Okay, that’s enough nostalgia. A good burger is not hard to make, a great burger takes a little more effort, but not all that much.
Bob’s Burgers.
Ingredients:
1 pound lean and I do mean lean ground beef.
1/5 cup all bran
1/5 cup carrot shredded
1 egg
Toppings:
You choose.
Onion, ( I like Spanish onions)tomato, lettuce, dill pickle, green pepper
Condiments,
You choose.
Mustard, you favourite kind
Ketchup
Relish, your favourite
Hot sauce
Preparation;
Put hamburger, egg, bran and carrot into bowl and mix together,
Form into 6 patties.
Put on BBQ or into fry pan, cook them the way you like them, and place on a bun. I prefer a whole wheat Kaiser bun to regular hamburger buns, but a good hamburger bun works just fine.
Add the condiments and toppings that you want and there you have it a burger prepared your way and you did not have to drive anywhere or wait in a line to get it.
You can prepare the burgers ahead of time and take them with you on a picnic the next day. Make sure to refrigerate them over night and pack them in a cooler for the journey.
This is a healthy and tasty meal, serve with a green salad and it offers all you need.
