i'm easy. i'm cheesy but tough. i'm unpredictable and predictable all rolled into one. i'm addicted to anything and anyone i'd like to be addicted to and with.
writing is my ultimate passion in life. i've been writing since my formative years in elementary grade. I had my first article published in national magazine when I was in 2nd year college when my article about my mom won in a contest. Since then, i started believing that i'm really bound for writing and that, i'll be good in this profession no matter what.
I worked in a magazine for a year. I had a wonderful and fun-filled days there. However, I had to leave because the pay i was getting there was not enough to provide for me and my family's needs. The farewell was very heartbreaking as I already treated that place as my comfort zone more than anywhere else.
I continued my pursuit of my dream by contributing to various publications in and out of the country. I used to write for a certain media group, writing for their AVP scripts. I also worked for an independent production group writing for scripts for their TV show which was very short-lived.
And yes, no matter how unsecured the income in those jobs was, I enjoyed it. It was like spending the wonderful days of your life doing the things that you love the most. But then again, pressures from around me started to build up. My family and friends started questioning my lack of ambition and goal in life. They just can't seem to grasp the reality that i was actually starting to reach for my goals while I was doing freelance writing jobs. And nope, they can never understand that. I'm the only one from my family who is passionate about her craft and if i may say, was gifted with a talent in writing and the arts.
So now, I'm struggling to fit myself in the corporate world--the world which i soooo loathe. I never want it. I never dreamed of myself wearing a power suit, doing a tedious eight-to-five job, and kissing the asses of my superiors just so they would notice me and make it easier for me to step up the next ladder to success.
Honestly, this is not the life i want. This is not the life i envisioned myself to be in. But sadly, i had to sacrifice my dream for a moment just to give way to my family's needs.
I know and I believe that in time, my dream will find its way to me again. in God's perfect time, i'll be able to do whatever I want with my life and not mind the comments or suggestions or thoughts of the world around me.
In time, it'll just be and my dream and we'll be happy and fulfilled then.
