This is a Sexy Test...This Is Only A Sexy Test.....
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!
A while ago, my friend and fellow hubber Dorsi decided to try something out. She noticed that there are some hubs that are trying to push the limits of acceptable content to generate traffic to their hubs. Dorsi just mentioned in a hubbers forum that her tongue-in-cheek tribute to Sexy Hubbers was getting more traffic than any of her other hubs (and she has quite a few!) So the question became, is all this traffic flying into her site simply due to the fact that she has the word "sexy" in her title? That is the operating theory. I decided that to lend credence to her theory, I should make a similar experiment, and see how much traffic comes rolling in. As long as I'm writing a page on this subject, I'd like to ask y'all how you define sexy? For me, I don't think sexy is merely the way a person looks. Sexiness is a multi-faceted concept. I, for one, find self-confidence enormously sexy. What do you think? As long as you've dropped by my little hub with absolutely no sexual content whatsoever, you might as well make it worth your while and contribute to this little test. This concludes this test of the Sexy Broadcast Hub. This was only a test!
UPDATE............
My friend Misha tells me that the original draft of this hub weighed in at a paltry 214 words, which would result in it being deemed substandard, and as such it would kind of defeat the purpose of doing this little test in the first place.
So now I'm in the active mode of filling space here....Let's expand and expound upon the discussion of how to define sexy. Well I suppose we could start with a dictionary definition. The MSN Encarta Dictionary has a few suggestions: arousing or intended to arouse sexual desire. An alternate usage describes sexy as appealing because of being new, interesting, or trendy ( informal ) a sexy new slogan.
OK, so now we're growing by the minute, and as of the end of the last paragraph we were up to 332 words. What else can we say about Sexy, without betraying the family-friendly image I'm trying to maintain on this site?
Maybe we can explore how the concept of sexiness changes with age.
For the record, I never went through a "girls are yucky" phase. If anything, I was scared to death of them! But I distinctly recall having a crush on a girl named Michelle on the very first day of Kindergarten. She had black curly hair, and as it turned out, she was not my type, but boy did she make my heart go pitter patter!
There were some really memorable crushes during school. I'll never forget how I fell in love with an older woman. She was in sixth grade and I was in fifth grade. She wore glasses (which, for some reason, I always equated with sexiness...curiously enough.) Just the fact that she was in my cousin Sean's class made her incredibly alluring to me.
Once I moved on to Junior High, the great crush in my life was a girl named Vicki. She was noteworthy because that crush actually carried over from seventh grade into eighth grade. But Vicki wound up going out with a boy who would one day become an Eagle Scout. Sounds good, right? Well, not really. Vicki and the Eagle Scout had a lesson in biology before they had taken a sex education class, and nine months later, at the age of 14, she had her first child.
I think the greatest crush I had in high school was a girl in my 10th grade biology class. I won't name her just because I won't. She sat directly behind me in class, she had the most beautiful eyes, and my dad spoke very highly of her and her family (they were clients of his in the insurance business).
I never actually dated anyone until I was a senior. She was a sophomore, had brown waivy hair, and shall we say, a few extra pounds. That didn't bother me much, though. This woman was the first I could legitimately say I loved. She was kind, compassionate, and pretty in her way. But alas, it was not meant to be.
Ironically, even though I've loved women practically from the moment of birth, it took me until my mid-thirties to find a woman I loved well enough to marry. Fortunately for me, she said yes, and now we have three beautiful children that are the joy of my life. I'm now approaching my 41st birthday, and I can say, without hesitation, that my view of sexiness has changed dramatically since I was five and in love with that girl in Kindergarten. A woman could be a supermodel now and though I may look at her and say she looks nice, no one defines sexiness any better than my wife, the mother of my children. Her eternal devotion to our children is the most sexy thing I can say about my wife, and our kids and I are lucky to have her in our lives. Thanks dear!
