Luxury Dog Crate Mattress Beds for Pampered Pups
High Quality Crate Pads make Comfy, Durable, and Affordable Mattress-style Dog Beds
Your dog deserves a comfy place to rest after a hard day of threatening squirrels, and a luxury crate mattress can be one of the best kind of dog beds to use anywhere in your home or in your vehicle.
A high-quality mattress makes his crate, kennel or corner a welcoming place to settle in for a snooze. In the back of a car, a crate pad adds comfort without making your dog unstable on his feet when he stands up to look around.
Whether or not your dog uses a crate at night or for naps - my greyhounds just love their comfy kennels, but I know not all dogs feel the same - a quality dog crate mattress is a smart pet care investment.
You'll find a great assortment of styles and colors of luxury crate mattress dog beds showcased on this page, in sizes from extra large (ginormous!) to medium right down to extra small. Remember to measure your crate or kennel, to get the right size!

Jumbo XXXL Microsuede Dog Bed Cover - Brown Microsuede Replacement Cover
Microsuede is one of my favorite coverings for a dog crate mattress, as it doesn't seem to collect dog hairs in the same way a woven fabric does, so it's nice to find a good-looking gigantic spare cover for the triple-x large size dog bed.
The only small problem I've ever had with a microsuede-covered dog bed was with a cushion-type bed that was far too small for my big male greyhound - he decided the cushion was a stuffed toy and when he picked it up to toss it around, his large canine teeth poked holes in the fabric. Easy enough to mend, but it's just something to be aware of, if you're looking at microsuede as a pad cover. On the plus side, the fabric doesn't ravel so a small hole is easy to mend, and a great huge dog bed looks less like a toy to a playful hound than a small cushion does.
Giant-Sized Orthopedic Dog Bed - For Extra-Large and Giant Breed Dogs
This is the largest size of orthopedic dog bed I've come across - and if you have a giant breed, you know it can be hard enough to find a crate large enough, never mind a really high quality crate dog bed to go inside.
This is a pillow style rather than a square mattress, but if you've got a Dane or a Mastiff, or even a Dobie who really likes to spread himself out, well, you know how hard it is to find a bed that's humongous enough to please your pup. Especially at the very low cost of this one!

Deluxe Dog Beds from Midwest - Midwest Homes for Pets also makes my favorite brand of dog crates
A quality company, in my opinion. I've always been very happy with Midwest pet products, and especially their wire crates. They make some pretty cool dog crate furniture, too. These come in a variety of sizes to fit large, medium and small dogs (and their crates) - just click through on any picture here to choose the size you need for your furbaby.
Double-Thick Ortho Dog Beds - For Large Dogs
I like the orthopedic mattresses for an older dog who is starting to feel a little stiffness in his joints. A good soft-but-supporting sleeping surface can make quite a difference in his mobility when he gets up in the morning. The synthetic sheepskin on these is welcome in cooler weather, too, as the material seems to help retain body heat a bit better than a smooth fabric.

Woolrich Large Dog Bed in Casual Plaid - Classic Red/Black/White Plaid Dog Mattress Bed, Made in USA
Woolrich quality in a dog bed? Yes, it's true! The well-regarded 180-year-old American textile company has a line of pet beds you'll love for the quality and durability, as well as the signature all-American heritage plaid in black, red, and white - oh, and the zip-off washable cover! Your dog will love the soft black Berber center for snuggling up on a chilly night.
Bright or Dark? Color Choice in Luxury Dog Crate Mattress Beds - Go elegant or cheerful, solid color or patterns...
What color of dog bed should you choose? That will depend on your taste and your décor, as well as on your dog, of course, but here are a few points to consider.
Bright and light colors can start to look dingy if you've got a dark-haired dog or one who often comes into his crate with muddy feet, so you may find you need to launder more often, but the lighter colors are cheerful and can be chosen to coordinate with and enhance your own furnishings and décor. To help to hide dog hair and paw prints, consider a lively pattern.
Dark colors, only the other hand, may hide dark dog hair and some of the inevitable dirt from muddy paws in the crate, but on the other hand the dark surface will show up lint and dust. If you choose a fabric that's soil-resistant and easy to vacuum clean, a black or very dark mattress can look quite an elegant dog bed. I probably wouldn't choose a dark-colored bed for a Golden Retriever, but one of these elegant dark beds might look quite lovely for a black or dark brown dog, especially a short-haired breed like a Greyhound.
The crate beds I'm showing you here are all XXL (48") size (48-inch), but these styles are available in sizes to fit smaller crates and smaller dogs, as well.
