Every Pug Needs this stuff!
Doesn't everybody just love pugs?
According to the Pug Dog Club of America: "A Pug's character is unique in that he is a clown at heart with a terrific sense of humor but at the same time he carries himself with great dignity. They are not too delicate for fun and games. A pug is anxious to please, anxious to learn and anxious to love. His biggest requirement is that you love him back."
Pugs are thought to have originated in China and were brought to the West in the 16th Century. Their popularity has only grown over the centuries.
Irresistible as they may be - Pugs are also known to be tremendous shedders, snorers, and must be carefully watched in warm weather since short-faced dogs are more susceptible to heat stroke.
Pugs are special - with some unique requirements and needs. Our shop, Golly Gear specializes in fun, affordable and practical products for small dogs and we're highlighting some of the products and places that Pug People should know about!
Pug Fuzz
Let's face it. Much as we may adore them, we wish our Pugs wouldn't shed so much! This Curry Brush can help. Regular use, even on short-coated dogs, will reduce the dust-bunny population at your house. Each little "finger" is split to grab those fine pug hairs that are so very numerous. You'll be amazed by the pile of fur you collect!
Walking in style
The Soft Harness by Puppia World is comfy and stylish. The front and collar portion is made of a cushy polyester air mesh that fits broadly across your dog's chest so he can walk comfortably and any pressure from the leash is distributed evenly across his neck and shoulders instead of at his neck! The mesh is edged in super-soft matching or contrasting velour. Straps of strong nylon webbing keep your Pug safely with you!
Keeping cool
Be sure to keep your Pug cool when you're out and about - the Water Rover is a convenient water bottle with its own bowl! When your pup needs water, just pull out the stopper and put the Water Rover down. You can store the stopper behind the belt clip. Water flows into the bowl instantly. The flow will stop automatically - the bowl will not overflow! When your little one is finished drinking, tilt the bowl back so that the extra water flows back into the bottle - no waste!
Pugga Tugga Wubba
We love Wubbas! This is a wonderful toy for any little dog - great for chewing on, fetching, carrying around, playing tug-of-war. Wubbas can hold up to a persistent chewer (although we haven't found anything that will last forever), and has enough weight to throw a distance, without being too heavy for our little guys to carry happily.
Summer style
In warm weather when a bit less coverage is a good idea, we love the Yellow Dog Design Step-in Harnesses. They're easy to put on, keep pressure away from our dogs' throats, and stylish, as well. These harnesses are made of a smoothest nylon webbing we've seen, gliding easily over fur without causing chafing.
Clean and pretty
Eye Envy® is the ultimate in tear stain removal systems. It's externally applied and is safe, non-irritating and effective at removing unsightly stains and inhibiting future ones.
Eye Envy uses a combination of three main ingredients that attack the cause of tear stains. It's not a cover-up or bleach, but a cleanser and astringent, and an antibacterial agent that mimics the properties of a natural antibiotic.
