Best Acrylic Yarns: Vanna's Choice
Rich Colors in a Quality Acrylic Yarn
It Feels Good to Knit
Vanna's Choice acrylic yarn has a wonderful, wool-like hand. I doesn't feel like plastic (as in some cheap craft yarns.) I would compare it in softness to Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn, though Vanna's Choice is a bit thicker. I would almost compare it to Lamb's Pride Worsted in feel and weight. This yarn is Aran-weight, a bit heavier than regular knitting worsted.
I had an opportunity to test this yarn for quite a while as I knit a Dr. Who Season 18 scarf. The original BBC pattern calls for chenille yarn, but I decided to try it in Vanna's Choice. It knits like a dream and feels soft, yet substantial. A high quality yarn is essential when you are knitting what seems like miles of garter stitch--as in any Dr. Who scarf!
I have enjoyed Vanna's Glamour yarn in a sparkly lace project. Lion Brand Vanna's Choice is thicker and softer. The durability test will come next winter, when this scarf is put into service.
