How to draw gold

★ Step 1
Start with a clean outlined sketch of what you're going to paint golden.
★ Step 2
Make the parts that are the closest to the viewer with a bright yellow color. Leave a little bit of white in the center.
★ Step 3
Next to the light yellow add a darker one extending the former form. Follow the outlines of the golden object.
★ Step 4
With a light brown shade fill the rest of the shape.
★ Step 5
Add a second layer of the brownish shade to mark the shadows. Again follow the shape specifics.
★ Step 6
With a gray shade stress on the places where the shadows get deeper. This is very important step for drawing gold, bacause it gives you the typical high contrast of metal.
★ Step 7
Blend it all and be careful not to enter in the lights (yellows).
★ Step 8
This step is optional. You can add touches of orange if you want to increase the illusion of gold.
