Random Demon Art

A Most Random Demon By Wayne Tully

My Sketchbook is littered with demon designs!!!

And when you decide to draw what you want to draw, then you may have something you also draw over and over again like it is the single most easiest thing in the world to do.

Demons, fantasy art, horror art and many other related genres of art are all a mix for me as far as interest goes, as all of these appeal to me and make me want to draw in the first place.

But when it comes to ideas you may get stuck for them, but fear not help is at hand, you see there are many tips and techniques you can use to build on your drawing knowledge and inspirational methods, that you will never get the dreaded artists block!

First of all you should have a ton of drawing paper or sketchbooks to do your fun hobby of creating stuff with, so get drawing anything that pops up into your head, don't worry about if it is garbage that most thoughts are based upon, ideas are the key revolution at this stage, ideas can be built on and fleshed out into something great.

Secondly you can watch any film you like to get inspired and that means a combination of different influences and other sources of reference to get you in the creative way of thinking, I sometimes just jot little thumbnail sketches down in a tiny notepad so I can later when I go in my studio I can draw larger drawings and really thrash the ideas out.

Another technique I use to get ideas is to brainstorm associated words much like you may do when you are writing a story, and quite often you think of words that you can imagine scenarios and compositions so that your drawings may tell a story or begin to come alive.

Also maybe if you looked closely at the human condition and studied women when they are in a rage look into their eyes and im sure you'll come up with real studies or references to help grasp the drawing of demons and even angels for that matter. As artist you must also be a student of the human interactions and reactions to lifes occurances. Well I guess that was a little deep, lets just say that if your going to do something you like then do it with as much rounded knowledge you can get so that your excellence will prevail.

The only thing I can suggest is practice and well practice some more, I've been drawing for years now and I can't imagine me ever stopping, I found out I liked to draw fantasy art and demons after watching and being inspired by horror films and reading many comic books as I loved the art, so just keep being inspired and see what you may be good at drawing from this point on.

Cheers for dropping by James!

Many of these drawings are of works in progress or of upcoming projects that have yet to materialize, so keep an eye out for any new developments.
