The World's Biggest Rubber Band Ball

It's a mission in life like no other mission, and this is certainly among fun things to do when your bored. One young man has a vision of creating the world's biggest rubber band ball, and holding the world record for this feat in the Guinness book of world records. Jay has been working on this incredible project since last year. After Jay completed an exhausting and very thorough search of the Guinness book of world records he hasn't discovered any listings in the book for the world's biggest rubber band ball.

Then more and more rubber bands followed one behind another.

He spotted the largest ball of twine, but there was no mention of a rubber band ball. So the race was on for Jay, and one day he hopes this world record will be his very own. Believe it or not all that Jay wanted for Christmas was rubber bands, and that's exactly what Santa Claus brought this little 12 year old boy. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will the world's biggest rubber band ball.

A lot of people only see the rubber band of having one purpose like holding a rolled up newspaper tightly together, but Jay has other plans for those little rubber bands. So far his rubber band ball weighs close to 30 pounds, and growing. It's bigger than a regulation size basketball as you can see from the photographs. It can also bounce as high as a basketball, however bouncing is limited so the rubber band ball won't lose it's round shape and become egg shaped.

In the hot Summer time heat certain rubber bands can melt in the sun light like a piece of chewing gum, and become rather messy. If you don't believe me then leave a few rubber bands sitting around inside of your car in the summer time for a while and see what happens. Trust me it happens, and this is exactly how I found out one hot Summer day years ago. So because of this Jay's rubber band ball has to be in a some what climate controlled environment.

Jay's ball is currently being worked on and stored inside of a house, however we are all aware that day will soon arrive when the rubber band ball will no longer be able to fit through the outside door frame. When this day gets here the rubber band ball will have to be permanently relocated and moved outside. We will all have to cross this bridge when we get to it, and maybe we will have to look into a building with a large garage door for Jay to continue his project of building the world's largest rubber band ball. I'll keep you all updated on the progress of this future world record rubber band ball as it becomes available. The last report I received on this rubber band ball was that the entire house shook as the rubber band ball was rolled across the kitchen floor.
