Guess you could say I'm "middle-aged" (if I can expect to live to be 100, anyway!)....Life's actually been pretty good so far... No major complaints, nor regrets (would it really do any good if I did?!?!?)....Getting to a point in my life where I'd like to begin to slow down a bit....Not looking to stop mind you, just take my foot off the accelerator a bit.

I've been writing creatively literally all my life...poetry, short stories, songs, long emails (do they count??)...Finally thinking I may want to pursue writing on a more professional level. My intent with this site is to basically give some of my work a little exposure, and garner some constructive feedback.

My writing tends to follow my moods, which though typically upbeat & positive, can on occasion "wander" into other realms, too. I consider myself to be a social conservative (which doesn't automatically mean I agree with everything Rush Limbaugh says - in case you're wondering), but I also have a concern and compassion for others, which sometimes leads me to write about things that concern me in our society as a whole.

I feel there's too much negativity in the world today, and too little is being done to curb the violence and dispair that is so pervasive among our young people. Because I believe our young people are our future leaders, I think we owe it to them to provide them with good schools, a stable homelife, and the opportunity to succeed - if they show a willingness to work hard and make an effort!

I have a keen interest in technology in general, and especially areas that will help ween this country off foreign oil. I believe we owe it to our future generations to begin making a serious effort to develop and produce more fuel efficient vehicles, with the ambition of one day having vehicles that don't use fossil fuels at all.

Finally, I believe we should all strive to find peace and harmony not only within our own lives, but with each other as well. Working together, I believe there's nothing we as nation can't achieve if we set our collective minds to it.
