I'm the girl with one of the longest bylines you'll ever see in print. Thank goodness for the endless amount of digipaper online right?

I am graduating with a degree in Communications-Journalism and am trying to make something of it. I'm Managing Editor for my school paper and enjoy staying after 2am in school during production nights. I intern for a popular newspaper as a weekend writer and still can't get over that wonderful feeling after seeing my long, ethnic name in ink. I wonder if that ever goes away...to me, that's more important than not getting paid (can't you tell I live in my parents' basement!)

I grew up with the belief that if I aspire enough, I will get to where I want to be. That's why there are obstacles, the world is trying to prove me wrong. When asked by my grad school what I would do should I not get in to their school, the answer came from my gut and not a pre-rehearsed answer-to-interview sheet from my counselor. I said that I really didn't care if the school didn't accept me, in the end, I will be a reporter. Though arrogant, especially coming from an amateur, it got me in the school.

So the school is in Times Square, NYC where all the action is, and it will further my skills in what will most likely be either urban reporting or even broadcasting, if I'm not too shy in front of the camera.

I'm very interested in the shift between print and online journalism I'm currently writing about it for my senior thesis, but I can just tell you my conclusion, which is that there's no real conclusion. Technology will progress and so will journalism in order to thrive...I will write more about this.

Still feel like I'm an amateur, hopefully blogging will get me to be more comfortable in my own skin.

Umm, I love ellipses, as you can tell, I don't believe anything is a "whole." Stream of consciousness is pretty cool, too. Neil Postman is God's other son.
