Learning How to Maintain Your BMW With A Bentley Repair Manaul
Maintaining Your BMW
I've owned a BMW 3 series ever since I was 18, it was always my dream car and my goal. A BMW drives so well I can only describe it as driving on cream. Although BMW's are such amazing cars, I did realize that maintaining your BMW can be expensive just like any other vehicle, but there are lots of ways to cut costs on vehicle maintenance by doing some of the work yourself rather than taking your BMW to a mechanic that charges $100 an hour. Personally, I have not had any high cost repairs that caused serious problems, so I consider BMW's to be very reliable cars. I am especially happy with how reliable my 330ci is.
Regardless of that fact, believe it or not, most of the basic maintenance that is done on a BMW is fairly easy. I know because I've done most of it myself. If you do decide to do the maintenance yourself be sure to get a tool that has metric measurements, becuase BMW is a european car, most of the tools use the metrics system such as 7mm, 9mm etc. I've replaced the control arms on my bimmer, I've learned how to change the oil, I've learned how to change the air intake, a/c filter and swap out the kidney grill and OEM blinkers, I even installed angel eyes by myself. One of the biggest projects that started with my BMW was installing an M3 navigation system into my 330 ci, the process went smoothly for the most part but it did end up taking about 5 days to complete.
The Bentley Service manual explains how to do all the maintenance on your BMW.
