Business Marketing Plan Without A Partner

When it comes to building a solid business marketing plan it really doesn't hurt to have a great partner.

For a few years that is what I have had until recently when things kind of got messed up.  Please let me tell you the entire story before you get the wrong idea.

Actually the last few months I have been lost without my partner.  Things just haven't been the same and let me tell you it really does suck.  When you talk and work with someone everyday for a few years and then that comes to a screeching halt things tend to get a little messed up.

I guess I'm kind of writing this hub as a dedication to a great business partner who has worked with me to build a great business marketing plan.

How We Met

It really is an amazing thing as to how a business marketing plan can come together.

I would be lying if I knew the exact date we met but I think it was somewhere between 2.5 and 3 years ago.

I was involved in MLM (another story in itself). I also had a different partner (that to is something I would like to forget).

Anyways I met Jodie on an online business forum. We started talking and she actually got involved in the MLM I was working with. I was actually making good money at the time but of course just like any other MLM when people start to make money they go and change all the rules. They made it almost impossible for the little guys to make money.

Lets say it was bad timing and in a way I had felt like I scammed Jodie. Not once did she ever look at it like that.

She trusted everything I told her so when I told her to quit the MLM I think she was shocked. Here was a guy making money off of her and he was telling her to quit.

Little did we know this was the true beginning of a great relationship and soon we would have our hands full with our business marketing plan.

Some Neat Stuff

OK, here were Jodie and I chatting away. Remember we are on an Internet forum. I asked her where she was from and to my wildest surprise we were both from the same city.

This may not be so uncommon if we are talking about New York or something. The thing is we are talking of a small city in Canada that has less then 90 000 people and we only live a few blocks from one another.

We started out being friends. Like I said I already had a partner, who by the way had no clue as to how things work on the Internet and figured all her dreams could come through by joining traffic exchanges and surfing all day long.

To make a long story short my old partner and I had a pretty serious falling out. It really wasn't nice. But we all know things happen for a reason. This gave Jodie and I the opportunity to start working together. Looking back now it was the best move I have ever made as a marketer.

I just thought this info was relevant to people seeing how small the world really is.

Well anyways it was time for Jodie and I to start our business marketing plan.

So How We Started

Some of our business marketing plan is a blur. However I would say the first money we started making was through Click bank. Yes you could and still can make money through Click bank.

We started to see a sale here and there, then we started to see daily sales and then multiple daily sales. Together we were making money and dam it felt good.

We started building websites, blogs, buying hosting, buying domain names and an auto responder. We were moving into the big leagues. But then things kind of seemed to stand still. We were still working hard, making a few dollars but it seemed we weren't going to move from there.

Then Jodie came up with the smoothest business idea. We were going to be affiliates for eBay.

I had no idea how that was going to be any different than anything else but I trusted Jodie so we moved forward with our business marketing plan for eBay.

Our EBay Story

Many of you already know our eBay story so I will keep it as brief as possible.

We were going to send traffic to eBay through our affiliate link and make money. There is no way we ever could have expected what was going to happen.

Jodie got to work on keywords and building a small free site. I got to work writing hundreds of articles.

We actually started to see a few dollars. We had a system and it was working. Then it just erupted. We were sending hundreds of thousands of visitors to eBay through our link. We were having 5 and 6 hundred days. Frig we had hit pay dirt and there was no stopping us.

Oh yes there was. October of 2009 eBay decided the traffic we were sending would have got there anyways so in a second our account was gone off the face of this earth. What was going to be a $10 000 dollar December wouldn't be much now.

Plain and simple eBay screwed us over. We were making huge money and now it was gone.

We could appeal all we wanted. Those people have no hearts and they don't care. At the end of the day I will always look at eBay as a bunch of crooks who could care less about the affiliates that make them money.

Anyways this was sort of the beginning of the end for Jodie and I, or was it?

Outside Of Work

While Jodie and I could hammer together a business marketing plan we also had lives outside the Internet.

Late night chats on Yahoo sometimes and many times had nothing to do with business.

Without realizing it we had become friends. We were there for each other when the other needed a shoulder to lean on. Please don't take any of this wrong. Jodie is very happily married to a wonderful guy and they have a wonderful family together. Myself as many of you know am to happily married to the girl of my dreams. We just somehow turned out to be great friends.

I am especially grateful to Jodie for the times she was there to talk to me. Especially when my pooch died, my dad had his heart attack and when my dad passed away.

A great relationship had been built in and outside of work.

So What Went Wrong?

I think both of us had to re think our business marketing plan after the eBay disaster.

This was very difficult on both of us but especially Jodie. Her family very much relied on the income they were earning off the Internet.

It seemed for both of us that the wind had been knocked out of our sails. We tried to move on but it seemed we let everything else get in our way.

We had never gone more than a day without chatting. Now we were going weeks without talking.

I feared what we had might be over. Oh sure much was my fault. I think I was just trying to ignore the entire affiliate world.

I will say that Hub Pages and the great people there helped me a lot even if they didn't know it.

It just seemed like all was over between Jodie and I. It seemed there would be no more business marketing plan.

So Whats Going To Happen Now

To be honest I'm not even sure. We have finally started talking again but at least Jodie was honest with me. She has no idea whether or not she can get back into marketing like we used to.

However she did remind me of something very important yesterday that I am embarrassed to say I let get away. I will tell you with a quote directly from her.

"Dale we are friends."

She is so right. I did forget that and for that I am truly sorry to Jodie. No matter what she decides her and I will always be friends.

I am sure in some capacity or another we will always work together. in fact as I write this she is working on keywords for a campaign we started but really never got off the ground.

Jodie and I haven't always agreed on things but we never argued. We would get our points across, make a decision and that would be that. We do make a great pair when it comes to working and friendship.

I only hope we can continue to work together but only she can make that decision.

A Few Final Words

It really is great to have a partner like Jodie. We are both built to know there are no freebies and anything we want we have to work for.

I would trust Jodie with anything, including log-ins and passwords for everything. Hell she has access to my AdSense account. Even my wife has no clue how to get into AdSense.

I would like to publicly apologize to Jodie for not seeing things as they really are. I was being selfish and that wasn't fair to her.

I do so hope she decides to continue working with me and once again we can come out on top.

I know we have learned a lot from one another.

A good partner is very hard to find and I almost let this one go. Losing the partner wouldn't have been devastating but losing the friend would have been.

I consider myself a nice guy but this just goes to show that even nice guys can be jerks.

Jodie may or may not read this Hub. That will be up to her. There is no doubt in my mind that even if I don't tell her about it she will find it. Shes just like that.

Anyways Jodie if you do read this I am sorry for almost losing a friend. No matter what you decide I will always be on your side.

However, I still need you to put the best business marketing plan together so make sure you put a lot of thought into your decision.

We all know peanut butter just doesn't work without jelly.
