It's Not Personal, It's Business And When You Hear That RUN

LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY

The three things you do not want to hear from anyone you are dealing with is sorry it is not personal it is business or with repect this is a different view and finally trust me when no paperwork is involved.

Any one of those utterances should immediatley put you on your guard. The first means you will be shafted with no remorse while the second means I don't respect you and you are going to listen to what I say and do what I say and the final one means if you are that stupid you deserve to lose your shirt.

Sadly in life there are many takers, people whose self worth is based upon doing others down or over in business or in personal life.

Happily there are also givers in life who are selfless and who truly believe that "Givers Gain" and it is up to all of us to identify the former and give them short shrift and make sure your circle of the latter are aware of who they are so that a circle of the givers can operate without them.

I know it is easy to say these things but it is something that works and over many years I have seen true friends and family really prosper together selflessly even if the odd disagreement has occurred it is the ability to agree to differ without taking personal umbrage that sets them apart.

The hardest part is to do the right thing and do it without thinking what is in this for me and to quote Martin Luther King "It is always the right time to do the right thing"

It is difficult to trust people in the business world anymore. I hope this falls into the hands of someone that needs to be warned of these 3 statements - before they get burned. Great warning!

Nicely put. I have been a member of an organization for years whose motto is "You Get By Giving." It took me a while to adjust to the concept because most people expect to get something in return when they give. Don't!
