   I would say determination and self belief are the most important but the ability to work in an organised manner is also important.

   The question is a little unclear, do you mean a business that is up and running or starting one? 
   If it is starting one, I agree with the rest of the posts here, if you are talking about a running business, I would say to do daily bookeeping making sure that your cash equals your sales, and I know businesses that have gone under because they were run by owners that dipped into the cash and nothing was right on their books.  Secondly, depending on the business, insurance is also important to maintain, and thirdly, consistancy in either your products, or services, whichever you provide.  People want to know that they will get exactly what they pay for each and every time they use it.
