How to Use eBay's Affiliate Program to Make More Money

Updated on February 25, 2013

Intro

In this Hub I will talk about using Ebay's affiliate program to escalate your earnings on Hubpages. I will also share my own stats and how those have benefited me to making more money on HubPages.

The tips to escalate earnings.

The first tip I can give you is keep the Ebay towards the top as you see to my right on this column. I split the Ebay Affiliate with my first text bubble below my intro. This gives you automatic exposure to all your readers because they will automatically see the Ebay ad even if they only read the first paragraph of your writing. If you place you Ebay tab at the bottom of the page, and your reader only reads the first half of your Hub then you will not get the full exposure you are seeking.

My next tip is to find a way to incorporate an Ebay capsule into every hub. You are not guaranteed clicks, and you will not always get clicks, but finding ways to incorporate them into every hub means over time you will develop more earnings. I have over 150 hubs, with more than 2500 views per day and on average I will receive between 5-10 clicks per day on my ebay tabs. I will show you in a picture below my personal Ebay clicks for this month, and last month, but keeping an ebay capsule in every hub guarantees the best results.

Keep the Ebay capsules pertaining to your hub. While I said put an Ebay Capsule in EVERY Hub, they need to pertain to your hub. I do have some Hubs that I know an Ebay Capsule wouldn't make sense, and would have nothing to do with the Hub, So I simply did not add and Ebay capsule. Readers will not click on something they are not searching for, so if you write a movie review Hub, and attach an Ebay capsule which you add golf clubs, you probably will not get many clicks.

Attach between 3-6 Ebay results in your hub. Unless you are doing a specific item individually like a movie, or one item from one seller, then make sure you add 3-6 items. This will allow you to have maximum exposure to multiple items, and allows readers to see different prices on similar topics to find the item they are looking for.

Don't stress on Ebay Earnings

The one thing I have learned in my last 2 years of writing for HubPages is not to worry about the Ebay earnings. If you add them to your Hubs, then the earnings will come. I very rarely check the stats, and don't pay attention to it often. You should focus more on your views, and producing quality hubs, than checking to see your Ebay Earnings.

One thing that I also don't pay much attention to is the Ebay revenue from sold items. I have learned that I earn significantly more earnings just from attaching an Ebay Capsule to my guides, than I do hoping something sells when a reader clicks on my Ebay ads. While this will also boost your income, it is something that happens less often, and while one expensive item can yield a good return, I still suggest focusing more on the clicks you receive. From what I have studied on the Ebay Sales tab, I usually sell one item per month, and make about $2-3 dollars. While from clicks I earn anywhere from $10+. So I don't focus on trying to sell items in the Ebay ads, but just get the clicks.

Most importantly though, do not worry about the clicks, and the earnings. Just focus on adding a relevant capsule that will pertain to your Hub and give readers something to follow up, and look into further.
