HubMob Weekly Topic: Ways to improve your life (also mine and theirs) in 2009.

Updated on June 26, 2011

Does it have to be a freezing cold world out there?

let's improve everybody else's life, in addition to ours..

Year after year, I have been working on ways to improve my life in the new year. This year, just because of this hubmob topic, it’s going to be different. I shall work on ways to improve everybody else’s life in the new year. Yes, including yours. I have been really busy and hence ideas are lacking. Here are a few starters:

1. Free Domain and Web-hosting for Charity.

2009 is going to be a bad year for charity organizations. I have been trying to monetize my writing hobby to generate income for charity. The impact of this is bound to be small, if and when I am the only one doing it. However, the impact will be huge if the regular hubbers here will also help. To persuade you to help me, others and yourself, I’m going to make you a deal you can’t (or feel embarrassed to) refuse. For any fellow-hubbers who want to have their own websites and hosted domains, I want to pay for your web hosting and your domain for one year. It doesn’t matter whether it’s your first, second or n-th hosted blog or personal page, your money making site or even your home business website. I am paying for the domain and the web-hosting for one year for the first 100 applicants. There are 3 very reasonable conditions. First, you can’t choose your web-hosting provider, so that I can get a big discount, control the budget of my project to benefit more hubbers and help more individuals. Second, the offer is only open to hubbers with a hub-score higher than 85 at the time of application (I am using the hubpages scoring system to screen out inactive hubbers and spammers). Third, on your website, you have to post either a link to or a donation button for your own chosen charity, as well as an acknowledgement that the hosting of your site is partly sponsored for the sake of charity. How do you apply? Simple. Just leave a comment to say you’re interested, or click the contact Benson Yeung button on my profile page to tell me your desired domain name (give me a few alternatives as your top choice might not be available). My poor secretary or volunteers will do all the hard work from there, while I get all the compliments, of course.

2. Let me encourage you to improve yourself.

In your comments to this hub below, tell me what you want to achieve by way of improving yourself in 2009, with certain specific target(s). Of course you can also let me know by contacting me. I shall make a pledge to write you little reminders and notes of encouragement every month (every alternate month if I’ve got too many of you to encourage, or too many hemorrhoids to do, either way it’s a happy problem, I suppose). If you achieve your target(s) by 31 December 2009, I’ll send you a gift to celebrate your achievement (what gift? My decision rather than yours, I’m afraid, and guaranteed to be inexpensive but useful).

Please be reassured that I am far too busy to con or spam you.

Happy, Healthy and a Helpful New Year to All.

Warmest wishes,

Benson
